AFL: Demons ready to snap losing streak

Melbourne Demons will be keen to bounce back from back-to-back defeats when they take on St Kilda at the MCG on Sunday.

The Demons had been billed as potential premiership contenders in 2024, but currently sit in eighth spot on the ladder with a 6-4 win/loss ratio.

There is work to be done to get them back in the mix and four points against the struggling Saints is a must.

Brisbane Lions are also in need of a win, but it will be far from easy when they travel to take on a Hawthorn side that have won two of the last three games.

To wrap up the action on Sunday, Adelaide will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on West Coast at the Adelaide Oval.

The Eagles are proving to be no pushovers and have the potential to push the Crows all the way.

Hawks look to bounce back

. What: Hawthorn v Brisbane
. Where: Marvel Stadium, Melbourne
. When: 13:10 (AEST), Sunday 26th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Hawthorn 2.80, Brisbane 1.44

Hawthorn suffered late heartbreak last week as Port Adelaide pipped them by a point, but they can take heart from the performance.

The Hawks had won the previous two game against St Kilda and Western Bulldogs, so have been in good touch.

They also beat the Lions by 25 points in this fixture last season. A repeat result would be a huge boilover, but they can be backed at 6.00 to win by 1-12 points.

Brisbane are undefeated in three games and have won eight of their last nine trips to Marvel Stadium.

Lions forward Charlie Cameron is 10.00 to boot the first goal of the game.

Demons in need of a response

. What: Melbourne v St Kilda
. Where: MCG, Melbourne
. When: 15:20 (AEST), Sunday 26th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Melbourne 1.40, St Kilda 3.00

Melbourne were stunned when losing by 35 points against West Coast at Optus last week and need to bounce back with a win against St Kilda.

They will be delighted to be on home soil against a Saints side they have beaten in each of the last four meetings, including a 21-point win in 2023.

The Demons can be backed at 5.00 to win by 13-24 in this latest encounter.

St Kilda have won just one game in the last five, and are in severe danger of seeing their season fall apart.

That one win came against North Melbourne and it will be a huge upset if they can get the job done here.

Mason Wood has been averaging 21 disposals in the last three games and is 1.48 to produce 20+ once again.

Crows set for battle of the birds

. What: Adelaide v West Coast
. Where: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
. When: 16:40 (AEST), Sunday 26th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Adelaide 1.21, West Coast 4.50

Adelaide suffered a narrow four-point loss against Collingwood last week, but that was their first defeat in four games.

They are back in the mix for the top eight and need another four points against the Eagles, before facing Hawthorn and Richmond.

Adelaide have won the last three meetings by no less than 45 points and are 5.50 to win by 37-48 on this occasion.

West Coast have shown they can pull off a shock this season and are 8.00 to win by 1-12.

However, all their wins this season have been at Optus so a trip to Adelaide represents a much tougher task.
