Double Dutch for Noppert

Danny Noppert is feeling confident about his World Grand Prix credentials after sealing his spot in the quarter-finals with a 3-0 win over compatriot Vincent Van der Voort.

World number 22 Noppert, who overcame another Dutchman in Michael van Gerwen in the opening round, is 12/1 to be crowned champion and 8/13 to get the better of last-eight opponent Ian White.

Clinical arrows

It was a clinical display from Noppert, who had a checkout ratio almost double that of Van der Voort and recorded an average of 91.24.

The 30-year-old had never gone beyond the second round in three previous visits to the World Grand Prix and will be appearing in the quarter-final of a PDC ranking event for only the second time.

Elated beating heroes

Speaking after his victory, Noppert said: "I'm really happy with this performance. I played brilliantly I think.

"I've won against two players who I watched when I was a kid, so I'm really happy. It was a tough game, and I didn't expect it would be 3-0, but I took my chances.

When asked about his last-eight clash, Noppert added: "Ian White is a good player and I'm looking forward to every match. I'm enjoying it here and I'm confident."

'Diamond White' fightback
