AFL: Fab four in action on bumper Saturday

Saturday is shaping up to be an exciting day of action with four teams out of the top five, including Port Adelaide, all in action.

Port Adelaide are clear at the top of the ladder with Collingwood and will need to see off the Gold Coast Suns to keep the pressure on.

In another exciting game on Saturday, St Kilda will take on Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.

It sees fifth place take on fourth and they have identical records so far this season with nine wins and six defeats. Whoever comes out on top will boost their chances of claiming a spot in the top four.

Elsewhere, third-placed Brisbane Lions will be expecting nothing other than a convincing win over the West Coast Eagles, while Greater Western Sydney entertain Hawthorn in the other game to be played.

It is a huge day of action with plenty at stake for all the teams involved.

St Kilda returned to winning ways last week, but were far from convincing after edging past West Coast Eagles by eight points at Optus Stadium.

They have not been in the greatest of form when winning just two of the last five games, and need to find it quickly if they are to impress in finals.

The same can be said of Melbourne, who have suffered back-to-back defeats against Greater Western Sydney and Geelong. The two-point loss to GWS last week will have set one or two alarm bells ringing.

This after they had defeated Collingwood by four points. So the outcome of Saturday’s game will depend on which Melbourne turn up to play.

Melbourne have won the last three games between the two sides, and if they are to come out on top at Marvel, it is likely to be close.

Melbourne can be backed at 6.00 to win by 1-12 points. Brisbane are 5.50 to win in the same points bracket.

Brisbane are starting to click into gear once again after winning the last three games on the bounce to keep the on the coattails of Port Adelaide and Collingwood.

They have yet to be beaten on home soil this season and smashed Richmond 134-53 at the weekend, which shows they are in great touch.

The Eagles have won just one game this season and were humiliated by Sydney Swans, before showing signs of improvement in a narrow defeat against St Kilda last week.

Brisbane are 1.47 to win by 73+.

GWS are one of the most in-form teams in the AFL right now after winning four of the last five games to take them to 10th on the ladder.

They should be full of confidence after beating Melbourne last week and need to keep the good times rolling if they are to make the eight. The Giants are priced at 6.00 to do just that.

Hawthorn were showing signs of improvement before losing the last two games, including a heavy 60-point home loss against Carlton.

Port Adelaide have won 13 games out of 15 this season and showed they have the stomach for a battle by beating Essendon after the siren last week.

The win showed they have courage as well as talent and it could take Ken Hinkley’s men a long way this season.

The Gold Coast have lost two of the last three games, including a 78-point loss against Collingwood last weekend.
