When Cameron Smith won the Open Championship in 2022, many thought he might go in to win several more Majors over the following years.
Just a month later though, the Aussie announced that he would be leaving the PGA Tour and joining LIV Golf, a decision that would have an impact on his world ranking.
He has won three tournaments since then, but Smith is still looking for an elusive second Major title and is 7.00 to end his wait by winning on of the big four in 2025.
Four top-10 finishes at the Masters had given an indication that Smith was getting closer to a Major title before he eventually lifted the Claret Jug.
His performance at St Andrews was so impressive, holding off the challenge of Rory McIlroy, that some pundits were talking about the Queenslander being a long-term world number one.
Although his move from the PGA Tour may have had an impact on his progression, Smith has shown that he can still compete for the big titles.
In the eight Majors since his Open win, the 31-year-old has missed just one cut - which was in the 2024 Open at Troon.
Smith has claimed three top-10 finishes in the ‘big four’ tournaments, with a T9 spot at the 2023 PGA Championship, followed by a fourth-place finish in the US Open.
He rediscovered his previous Augusta form with a T6 finish in last year’s Masters but failed to build on that after failing to finish inside the top-30 in the next three Majors.
If the Australian star is to claim a second Major title, then the Masters seems to offer him the best chance of success.
Smith has made eight previous appearances at Augusta and has never missed the cut, with a form-line of T55-T5-T51-T2-T10-T3-T34-T6.
The 2022 Players Championship winner, who is 25.00 to win the Green Jacket, started the new season in good form after returning Down Under to play in two tournaments.
Smith finished second in the weather-hit Australian PGA Championship, before a T39 spot in the Australian Open, having started the event with an opening round of 65.
Quail Hollow in North Carolina will be the venue for this year's PGA Championship, the second time this tournament has been host by the Charlotte course.
The last time it hosted the tournament was back in 2017 and, on that occasion, Smith missed the cut.
Smith has not been a regular at the Wells Fargo Championship, held at Quail Hollow since 2009, so this track might not appeal to the 31-year-old.
The Australian's best PGA Championship finish was T9 in 2023 and he is available to back at 38.00 for this year's event.
The third Major of the year - the US Open - has been the big-four tournament where Smith has enjoyed the least success.
Smith has missed the cut in three of his eight US Open appearances, including back-to-back in 2021 and 2022.
His best performance at the tournament came a year later, when finishing fourth at Los Angeles Country Club, four shots behind eventual winner Wyndham Clark.
Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania is the 2025 US Open venue, with 2016 the last time that course hosted the event.
On that occasion Smith finished T59 after a disappointing final round of 79, and he is 36.00 to lift the trophy in 2025.
Smith's success at St Andrews in 2022 is the only time he has finished inside the top-15 at the Open Championship.
He has twice missed the cut, in 2017 and 2024, and will be desperate to bounce back from last year's disappointment at Troon.
Smith's next best performance at The Open came at this year’s venue - Royal Portrush - when he finished T20 in 2019.
He was T5 at the halfway stage in Northern Ireland before rounds of 71 and 76 over the weekend saw him finish in a tie for 20th, 14 shots behind eventual winner Shane Lowry.
That performance, though, will give him hope that he can lift the Claret Jug again this summer and the man from Brisbane is currently available at 46.00.
