US Masters outright odds: Scheffler the one to beat

World number one Scottie Scheffler heads to Augusta National not only as the reigning US Masters champion, but also as the man chasing a third Green Jacket in four years.

The 28-year-old American ruled the roost 12 months ago to add to the victory he claimed in 2022, with Spaniard Jon Rahm taking the honours in 2023.

That pair are among the market fancies for Masters glory this time around, while Rory McIlroy again bids to complete a full set of all four Major titles.

A number of Australians will be teeing it up with high hopes, including the only golfer from the country to have donned a Green Jacket, 2013 champion Adam Scott, who is 101.00 to repeat his success of 12 years ago.

Scottie Scheffler - 5.00

Scottie Scheffler is quite simply the player to beat at Augusta, as he not only tops the world rankings, but also has the Masters pedigree to back it up.

He won by three shots from McIlroy in 2022 and added a second Major title 12 months ago as he finished four shots clear of rising Swedish star Ludvig Aberg.

In between Scheffler finished in T10 in 2023, while he also won the Players Championship in both 2023 and 2024 and the Tour Championship at the end of the 2024 season.

Rory McIlroy - 7.50

Rory McIlroy is seen as Scheffler's main challenger at Augusta, as he bids to finally get his hands on a Green Jacket to complete a full set of all four Majors.

However, despite continuing to excel all around the world, the cold, hard fact is that the Northern Irishman has not won a Major title since the second of his two USPGA Championship successes in 2014.

Since then he has racked up no fewer than 21 top-ten finishes at Majors, including six at Augusta, so the belief is still there for both McIlroy and his fans that a fifth Major title is just around the corner.

Jon Rahm - 15.00

Spaniard Jon Rahm plays his golf on the LIV circuit these days, but remains a major force at the Major tournaments, having already claimed the US Open title in 2021 and added a Masters success two years later.

Having switched to LIV Golf in early 2024 his Masters title defence ended in a disappointing T45 finish, but he marked out his class with a T7 finish at The Open Championship later on in the year.

Cameron Smith - 51.00

Cameron Smith, another LIV golfer, marked himself out as a massive talent even before he secured his one Major title to date at the 2022 Open Championship, with his recent record at Augusta up there with the very best.

Smith has finished inside the top ten at Augusta in five of his eight visits, including in four of the last five years, so he clearly has the game to suit the conditions in Georgia.

Min Woo Lee - 51.00

Min Woo Lee has emerged as the next world-class Australian talent and is most definitely seen as a potential future Major champion.

His three previous trips to Augusta have yielded T14 and T22 finishes, as one as one missed cut, so he has some previous form to draw from.

He is in good shape ahead of the Masters, as his bids for a first PGA Tour title at the Houston Open.
