The Northerly Stakes, previously known as the Kingston Town Classic, is a Group 1 race held at Ascot Racecourse each year.
The 1800m event is held in December each year and forms part of one of Perth's premier race meetings following up from the Group 1 Railway Stakes and Group 2 Winterbottom Stakes.

The 1980 Australian Champion Racehorse of the Year, Kingston Town won this contest in 1982 and the race was named after him until recently.
Vo Rogue was victorious in the Northerly Stakes in 1988, while Better Loosen Up won the 1989 running and he was named the Australian Horse of the Year in 1991.
The other four two-time winners of the race were Summer Beau (1996/1997), Old Comrade (2000, 2001), Niconero (2006, 2008) and Playing God (2010, 2011).
The popular Arcadia Queen captured the hearts of many racing fans and in 2018 she won the Northerly Stakes.
Storyville is 6.00 to win the Northerly Stakes this time around, while Attrition can be backed at 7.00 and Light Infantry Man is 7.00, with Democracy Manifest at 8.50.
Other contenders include Olympic Park at 11.00, September Born at 13.00 and Casino Seventeen at 17.00.
