NRL: Improving Titans go for three in a row

Gold Coast Titans go in search of a third successive NRL victory when they take on Parramatta Eels on Saturday night.

It has been a tough campaign for the Titans, but there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel after they moved four points clear of Wests Tigers at the bottom of the ladder.

Titans are 8.00 to suffer most losses this season, but on current form they are looking up the ladder rather than over their shoulder.

The Eels are one place and four points below them and are 2.50 to pick up most losses this season.

They are on another poor run of form at the moment, but at least there was some good news regarding their future this week.

Jason Ryles has been appointed their new head coach for the 2025 season and his arrival could give the Eels a lift heading into Saturday’s clash.

. What: Gold Coast Titans v Parramatta Eels
. Where: Cbus Super Stadium, Gold Coast
. When: 17:30 (AEST), Saturday 13th July 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Gold Coast Titans 1.45, Parramatta Eels 2.75

Titans finding their form

Gold Coast Titans look to be a team on the rise after picking up a couple of impressive wins in recent weeks.

Des Hasler’s men smashed the New Zealand Warriors by 60 points and then backed it up with a tight four-point win over Cronulla Sharks.

The Titans should be full of confidence and will fancy their chances of continuing the winning sequence on their home deck.

This despite the fact they have won just two of the last seven games at Cbus Super Stadium, while the last time they beat Parramatta at the venue was 2017.

But on current form they can turn things around and are 2.30 to win by 13+ points on Saturday night.

Alofiana Khan-Pereira has a good record against the Eels, scoring four tries in the last two games against them.

The winger can be backed at 5.50 to score the first try of the game, or 1.47 to score a try at anytime.

Moses' absence hurts Eels

Parramatta have won eight of the last nine games against the Titans, but they were a different animal during that time.

This season the Eels have struggled, winning just four games, and they will have their work cut out to make it number five.

They have lost the last four games on the bounce, and probably cannot wait for this season to end.

There have been some promising signs during those defeats, but not enough to get the job done over the 80 minutes.

The Eels will also have to do without the influential Mitchell Moses, who is on State of Origin duty with New South Wales.

Blaize Talagi has been one shining light for Parramatta and has scored a try in each of the last seven games.

He can be backed at 11.00 to score the first try of the game, or 2.25 to score at anytime.

The Eels can also be backed at 4.00 to win the game by 1-12 points.
