NRL: In-form Broncos aiming for Raiders revenge

Brisbane Broncos versus Canberra Raiders looks to be the top game in the NRL on Saturday, with both sides hoping to finish the regular season strongly.

The Broncos could still be in the mix for the minor premiership if Penrith Panthers slip up against Parramatta Eels on Friday, while the Raiders can still finish in the top four.

Melbourne Storm will be out to make sure that does not happen. They Storm currently hold fourth spot and will look to consolidate it when they take on Gold Coast Titans.

Sydney Roosters have another must-win game when they take on Wests Tigers. The Roosters need to win their two remaining games - one of which is against South Sydney Rabbitohs - if they are to make the top eight.

The Raiders had been going through a sticky patch before they returned to winning ways with a 12-point win over the Canterbury Bulldogs last weekend.

It keeps them in touch with the top four, but with games against the Broncos and Sharks to come, it could turn out to be a bridge too far.

However, they did beat the Broncos earlier in the season and will feel they can dish out the same punishment again.

The Raiders have won four of the last five games against the Broncos. Even so, the Broncos are in hot form and will be looking for their seventh win on the bounce.

The Broncos will be missing Adam Reynolds through a calf injury, but they have won four out of six when the playmaker has not figured, proving they have great strength in depth.

The Storm have won three of their last four games, with the only blip coming against the Panthers.

They smashed the Raiders 48-2 a couple of weeks ago and followed that up with a hard-fought 10-point win over St George Illawarra Dragons in the last round.

Melbourne are boosted by the news that gun fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen is poised to make his return from a long-term knee injury and, with finals approaching, his return could not be more timely.

As for the Titans, their chances of playing finals are over, but they still have pride to play for and will be looking to knock over the Storm in their own back yard.

They can be backed at 15.00 to pull off a shock and beat the Storm by 1-5 points.

Tedesco absence hurting Roosters

The Roosters have finally mounted a late charge for the top eight by winning the last three games on the bounce and they need to make it four against the Tigers.

They look set for a potential winner-takes-all clash with the Rabbitohs in the final round of the regular season, but they currently have to take it one game at a time.

There can be no room for error against a Tigers side who sit bottom of the ladder, but  who pulled off a one-point win over the Dolphins last week,

The Tigers are keen to avoid the wooden spoon and will be determined to get another big result against the Roosters.

They could also be helped by the fact the Roosters will be without James Tedesco and Sydney have lost three of the last four games without him.
