The Livamol Classic was first raced in 1955 and was won by a horse named Redcraze and back then it was Stakes Race and was named the Ormond Memorial.

The Livamol Classic has also been a Group 3 and Group 2 race, before it was finally upgraded to Group 1 in 1996 and has remained that way ever since.

The race is part of the Triple Crown that is raced at Hastings Racecourse, along with the Tarzino Trophy and the Arrowfield Stud Plate.

The Livamol Classic is the last leg of the Triple Crown.

Ladies Man was the winner of the 2023 edition of the race for trainer Allan Sharrock and jockey Ryan Elliott.

Other notable winners include Melody Belle, who won the race in both 2019 and 2020, while Princess Coup also went back-to-back in 2007 and 2008.

Five-time Group 1 winner Jimmy Choux also won the Livamol Classic in 2011.
