NRL: Magic Saturday on the cards at Suncorp

Magic Round moves on to Saturday and we are in for a treat with three of the top four teams in action.

Those supporters who have made the trip to Brisbane for the NRL spectacle, could not ask for a much better day with three games back-to-back, starting with a cracker.

It sees the eighth-placed Warriors take on the Panthers who are just one place below them in ninth and share the same amount of points, 10.

That game gets underway at 15:00 (AEST) and is then followed by the Sharks against the Dolphins at 17:30 and the Storm against the Rabbitohs at 19:45. If that line-up does not get you excited, not much will.

Warriors and Panthers looking to stop the rot

The Warriors and Panthers both head into the game looking for their first win in three attempts following a couple of disappointing weeks.

Melbourne Storm and Sydney Roosters have beaten the Warriors in the last two weeks, and they now face another stern test against the Panthers.

However the reigning premiers are also struggling after losing to South Sydney, before Wests Tigers pulled off the shock of the season so far with a 12-8 victory.

Everything points to a Panthers win as the Warriors have not beaten them in the last four years and they also have a great record at Suncorp, having won 11 of their last 12 games at the venue.

But as last week shows, shocks do happen and the Warriors will be in the mix. They are also boosted by the return of Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, who has scored six tries in his last six games against Penrith. He can be backed at 3.70 to score at anytime on Saturday.

The Panthers are also given a lift with the news that James Fisher-Harris returns to the side.

Sharks favourites to take down Dolphins

The Sharks are really starting to hit form after winning their last three games on the spin to take them to second place on the ladder.

Craig Fitzgibbon’s men have been scoring tries for fun this season and also managed to tighten up their defence in the 44-6 win over the Cowboys last week.

However their Magic Round form is not the greatest, failing to pick up a win since 2019. They have made plenty of progress since then though and with Nicho Hynes on board and in top form, the Sharks are a formidable outfit. Hynes can be backed at 3.90 to score a try at anytime in the game.

The Dolphins will be making their Magic Round debut in their inaugural NRL campaign. And with Wayne Bennett at the helm this is just the kind of game they will rise to. They have already pulled off shocks this season and are capable again.

There is no better way to wrap up the day than a clash between two NRL powerhouses in the form of Melbourne Storm and South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The bunnies are unbeaten in the last four games, and the last side to beat them were the Storm in week five.

The Storm do have a great record against the Rabbitohs and have won eight of the past nine games between the two sides.

However the Rabbitohs are the form team of the comp right now and with superstar Latrell Mitchell at the top of his game they will take some beating. Mitchell has scored 70 points in the last four games and is priced at 2.70 to score a try at anytime against the Storm.
