A-League: Nix to maintain minor premiership push

Wellington Phoenix will continue their pursuit of the A-League minor premiership when they entertain Brisbane Roar on Sunday.

The Nix currently sit top of the pile, but Central Coast Mariners are too close for comfort, so the wins need to keep coming.

Next up is a home game against Brisbane Roar, who still have an outside chance of making the top six, so have everything to play for.

Phoenix are 2.00 to win the minor premiership, while the Mariners are 1.80.

Melbourne Victory are also in action on Sunday when they take on Perth Glory at AAMI Park.

The minor premiership is now beyond Victory, but they will be keen to keep the wins coming and build some momentum heading towards finals.

Nix must keep on winning

What: Wellington Phoenix v Brisbane Roar
Where: Sky Stadium, Wellington
When: 11:00, Sunday 31st  March 2024
How to watch: Paramount+
Odds: Wellington Phoenix 2.05, Draw 3.60, Brisbane Roar 3.50

The Phoenix have won three out of the last five and cannot afford any slip ups with Central Coast breathing down their necks.

They beat Sydney FC 2-1 on home soil before the international break and would no doubt take the same result again.

That scoreline is priced at 9.00 and we could be in for another close game.

It finished 1-1 when the two sides met in Brisbane back in February, with Roar equalising at the death.

Under 2.5 goals can be backed at 2.25, while both teams to score is 1.53.

Kosta Barbarouses remains in good touch for the Phoenix and is priced at 6.00 to score the first goal of the game.

Roar will be looking to bounce back from a 2-1 home defeat against Macarthur FC last start, but they have not won in the last five games against Phoenix.

Thomas Waddingham will be a threat however and is 3.20 to score at anytime.

Victory out to cement top-six spot

What: Melbourne Victory v Perth Glory
Where: AAMI Park, Melbourne
When: 15:00, Sunday 31st March 2024
How to watch: Paramount+, 10Bold
Odds: Melbourne Victory 1.44, Draw 5.50, Perth Glory 5.75

Victory will be looking to find some consistency with the A-League finals fast approaching.

After losing two on the spin, ending their minor premiership hopes, they have bounced back with a draw and a win.

It should really have been two wins as they conceded a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Western United before the international break.

Ben Folami was on target against Western and he also found the back of the net when Victory beat Glory 3-2 in Perth in January.

Folami is 6.50 to score the first goal of the game, while Bruno Fornaroli is 1.80 to score against his former club at anytime.

Another high-scoring game could be on the cards and over 2.5 goals is priced at 1.44.

Glory may be towards the wrong end of the ladder, but they do have Adam Taggart, who is 3.50 to score at anytime.
