NRL 2024 Outright Odds: Cronulla Sharks maintain impressive start to the season

Cronulla Sharks have emerged as real contenders to win the 2024 NRL grand final following an electric start to the season.

The Sharks have won seven of their eight games to sit at the top of the ladder along with Melbourne Storm.

Penrith Panthers remain well in the mix in third spot, but there are big concerns over Brisbane Broncos, who are down in seventh.

The Panthers are the hot fancies at 3.00 to win yet another premiership and it would take a brave man to back against Ivan Cleary’s side.

At the wrong end of the ladder, it continues to be a tough campaign for South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Gold Coast Titans.

Cronulla Sharks

The Sharks continue to go from strength to strength and have to be taken seriously when it comes to winning the grand final in 2024.

They are now priced at 10.00 to go all the way after winning seven games out of eight.

Cronulla beat the Raiders 40-0 and the Cowboys 42-6, before edging past the Dolphins 20-10 at the weekend.

However their premiership credentials are set for a stern examination in the next few weeks.

With games against the Storm, Roosters and Panthers to come, it does not get much harder for Craig Fitzgibbon’s side.

A place in the top four is the minimum they will now be expecting, and they are priced at 1.50 to make it.

Brisbane Broncos

The Broncos continue to have troubles this season and have just been hit by a massive blow on the injury front.

Key playmaker Adam Reynolds is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury, and some have questioned whether they could win the premiership without him.

Brisbane still have a squad packed with quality, but injuries could scupper their chances of going all the way.

They have won five and lost four so far this season, and that is not premiership-winning form.

The good news is there is still time to turn things around and they are 6.00 to win the grand final.

Kevin Walters’ side can also be backed at 3.10 to match last season’s achievement of reaching the grand final.

Sydney Roosters

The Sydney Roosters are starting to show signs of being a contender in 2024.

They have had a few ups and downs already, but after scoring 100 points over the last two games, the Bondi outfit are looking strong.

Trent Robinson’s men were impressive when beating the Broncos 40-18 last weekend and have a side packed with quality.

Playmaker Sam Walker is emerging as one of the best in the NRL, while players such as Connor Watson have also raised their game.

The Roosters are 6.00 to win the 2024 grand final and if they find some consistency, they will be in the mix.

South Sydney Rabbitohs

The Rabbitohs recently parted company with coach Jason Demetriou and all eyes will now be on them to see if they can turn things around.

They remain at the foot of the ladder with one win from eight games and are 2.40 to suffer most losses this season.

Gold Coast Titans are in the same boat with just one win and are also priced at 2.40.
