Penrith Panthers will be out to make it five premierships on the bounce in the 2025 NRL campaign and only time will tell if anyone can stop them.
The Panthers are celebrating their fourth title in as many seasons after seeing off the Melbourne Storm 14-6 in the 2024 grand final.
The Storm look set to be the main threat to the Panthers in 2025 and are the current market leaders at 4.00, but there will be one or two other teams looking to upset the apple cart.
Let’s take a look at the very latest outright odds for the 2025 NRL season.
Melbourne Storm - 4.00
Penrith Panthers - 4.50
Brisbane Broncos - 10.00
Cronulla Sharks - 15.00
Canterbury Bulldogs - 15.00
Manly Sea Eagles - 15.00
Penrith Panthers - 4.50
The Panthers are priced at 4.50 to win yet another grand final and it would take a brave person to back against them.
In each of the last four seasons the Panthers have lost key players, but have had no issues replacing them.
The players who have stepped in have been just as good, if not better, while the club has not lost its appetite for success.
Penrith have lost more big names with Jarome Luai and James Fisher-Harris moving on, but you cannot rule out the Panthers from making it five in a row.
Ivan Cleary remains as head coach and son Nathan will be out on the pitch with the likes of Dylan Edwards and Isaah Yeo, so the spine is still intact.
Penrith have what it takes to continue their domination of the NRL.
Melbourne Storm - 4.00
If anyone is to end the Panthers domination, the Melbourne Storm look the most likely to do it.
The Storm were the best side throughout the regular season, winning the minor premiership, but just fell short in the grand final.
They will be highly motivated to make up for that loss by winning the premiership in 2025 and can be backed at 4.00 to win the grand final.
Craig Bellamy is on board as coach for one more season, so the Storm are in very good hands, while the squad is also packed with talent.
A lot will depend on the big names such as Ryan Papenhuyzen, Cameron Munsters, Harry Grant and Jahrome Hughes staying fit.
If they do, then the Storm will fancy their chances of going all the way in 2025.
Brisbane Broncos - 10.00
Brisbanes Broncos were expected to be the team to stop Penrith in 2024 after losing the 2023 grand final to the Panthers.
However, they had a disastrous season and did not even make the top eight and play finals.
They were not helped by injuries to key players and will need to keep the likes of Reece Walsh and Adam Reynolds fit if they are to contend.
The Broncos parted company with coach Kevin Walters at the end of the season and Michael Maguire has been handed the job of getting them back on track.
Maguire helped New South Wales win State of Origin in 2024, but did not hesitate at jumping ship as soon as Brisbane came knocking.
The Broncos have the players and, if Maguire can get them clicking, they will be a challenger.
The Broncos are 10.00 to win the 2025 grand final.
