NRL: Cleary returns to add bite to Panthers

Penrith Panthers are set to welcome back Nathan Cleary for Friday evening's showdown with the Canterbury Bulldogs.

The Panthers have won their last three games on the bounce and managed to see off South Sydney Rabbitohs last week while Cleary was on the sidelines.

They are looking like the team to beat once again and can be backed at 3.00 to go on and win the 2024 grand final.

Next up is a clash with the Bulldogs, who have won the last two games and who will have four former Panthers in their line-up on Friday just to add some extra spice.

In the second game of the evening the Brisbane Broncos will look to bounce back from a defeat against the Sydney Roosters when they take on a Parramatta Eels side in desperate need of a win.

Brisbane are 6.00 to win the grand final but have a lot of work to do and injuries are not helping.

Penrith to be boosted by Cleary

. What: Penrith Panthers v Canterbury Bulldogs
. Where: BlueBet Stadium, Penrith
. When: 19:00, Friday 10th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Penrith Panthers 1.17, Canterbury Bulldogs 5.00

Penrith are expected to welcome back Nathan Cleary, but they did okay without him last week when they smashed the Rabbitohs by 30 points.

The Panthers are proving they have the strength-in-depth to go all the way once again and they will be targeting their fourth win on the bounce on Friday night.

They will also be up against a host of former Panthers, including Stephen Crichton, who swapped clubs at the end of 2023.

The centre can be backed at 4.50 to mark the occasion by scoring a try at anytime in the game.

Canterbury are in good form, having won the last two games, but they face a tougher test at BlueBet Stadium, where they have not won since 2016.

Penrith have also won the last six games against them and are priced at 1.68 to win this latest meeting by 13+ points.

Reynolds absence to hurt Broncos

. What: Parramatta Eels v Brisbane Broncos
. Where: CommBank Stadium, Sydney
. When: 21:00, Friday 10th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel, Channel 9
. Odds: Parramatta Eels 3.25, Brisbane Broncos 1.35

Brisbane Broncos suffered their fourth defeat of the season when losing by 22 points to the Roosters last week.

And to make matters worse they have lost influential playmaker Adam Reynolds to a serious biceps injury that will rule him out for months rather than weeks.

The Eels have injuries of their own, with Mitch Moses still on the sidelines, while there are also doubts over skipper Clint Gutherson.

Parramatta have lost the last nine games when Gutherson has not played, so they will be praying he makes it.

Both sides are in desperate need of a win and it looks sure to be a fiery encounter.

Brisbane have won the last two meetings between the two sides, including a 26-16 win at CommBank Stadium and they can be backed at 6.50 to win by 6-10 points on this occasion as well.
