NRL: Grand Final Winning Region market

As the 2024 NRL season edges closer, speculation grows as to where the Provan-Summons Trophy will be heading this season.

Here’s a look at the three options in the Grand Final Winning Region market as to where the title could be going this year.

New South Wales

Firm favourites at 1.66, there are plenty of top teams in New South Wales that are expected to be vying for the title this season.

Penrith Panthers have won the grand final for the last three seasons and are the favourites in the NRL Grand Final Winner market at 3.75 to go on and win it for a fourth consecutive year in 2024.

With Jarome Luai making the switch to Wests Tigers in 2025, the Panthers will be pushing hard to give the NSW star a happy send-off.

Other teams from the state will be determined to end Penrith’s reign of dominance, with big things expected of the Sydney Roosters and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

With the Rabbitohs and Roosters at 9.50 and 10.00 respectively, of the four shortest prices in the Grand Final Winner market, three of those clubs hail from New South Wales.

It’s little wonder NSW are the heavy favourites in the Grand Final Winning Region market.

Queensland

When it comes to Queensland’s chances of holding the Provan-Summons Trophy, it’s really the Brisbane Broncos who are flying the flag for the state, which is 3.25 in the Grand Final Winning Region market.

The Broncos will still be reeling from seeing their 2023 grand final lead overturned by the resilient Panthers and it will be interesting to see if Brisbane can shrug off the disappointment and go again.

Brisbane are 4.50 in the Grand Final Winner market to go all the way and win the title this season.

The next shortest price to claim the title are the North Queensland Cowboys, at 19.00 to claim the title.

It’s likely to take one of the Broncos or the Cowboys to do the business if the trophy is to head to Queensland in 2024.

Any Other

Flying the flag for the other regions, Melbourne Storm and the New Zealand Warriors are the most likely candidates.

Melbourne should always be there or thereabouts when it comes to the final and the Storm will be desperate to get back to a grand final after missing out last season.

The Warriors were one of the standout attacking teams last year, with playmaker Shaun Johnson pulling the strings in the backline.

Any other region, other than NSW and Queensland, is available at 6.50 in the Grand Final Winning Region market.
