NRL Profile: Manly Sea Eagles

Having finished down in 12th place in the 2023 campaign and seventh last season, the Manly Sea Eagles will be eager to continue making progress in the NRL in 2025.

The Sea Eagles managed to reach the semi-finals last season before hitting a brick wall against rivals the Sydney Roosters.

Looking to go a couple of steps further in 2025, head coach Anthony Seibold will be hoping his side can build on their recent foundations to take the two-time grand final winners back to the top.

NRL Outright Odds

Narrowing the gap

With the likes of Melbourne Storm, Penrith Panthers and Brisbane Broncos considered serious contenders for the title again this season, Manly have work to do to get to the level of those sides.

There has been a turnaround of players at those clubs and a more settled Sea Eagles side might be in a good place to try and narrow the gap at the top of the table.

Looking to win a first grand final since 2011, Manly are edging their way back to the top after some tough seasons and it will be interesting to see how Seibold’s men fare this year.

Exciting players looking to make an impact

As mentioned, Manly are a settled side but they have brought in some fresh faces to be excited about ahead of the new campaign.

Joe Walsh is a highly-rated talent who has decided to switch codes from rugby union to join the Sea Eagles.

Joining the playmaker Walsh at the Brookvale Oval, Jazz Tevaga (New Zealand Warriors), Michael Chee Kam (South Sydney Rabbitohs), Siua Taukei'aho (Catalans Dragons), Chris Patolo (Canterbury Bulldogs) and D’Jazirhae Pua'avase (North Queensland Cowboys) have all made the move to Manly.

The Sea Eagles were the fifth-highest points scorers in the NRL last year during the regular season but they were also the second-highest team in the top eight when it came to conceding points.

Losing 40-16 to the Roosters in the semi-finals highlighted those defensive flaws and the hope will be that new arrivals can help boost this Sea Eagles defence in 2025.

The Sea Eagles have retained their top talent, with the likes of Ben Trbojevic, Corey Waddell, Haumole Olakau’atu and Jason Saab all tied down to long-term contracts.

That sort of consistency in the Manly roster should serve them well ahead of an exciting 2025 season to come.

Manly Sea Eagles odds

Manly are available at 15.00 to go all the way and win their third NRL grand final in 2025.

The Sea Eagles are 3.25 to continue their recent progress and finish in the top four at the end of the regular season and 1.33 to finish fifth or lower.
