NRL: Reece Walsh return boosts Brisbane Broncos as they get set to tackle the Dolphins

Brisbane Broncos have been handed a huge boost with the news that gun fullback Reece Walsh is back available to face the Dolphins on Friday night.

The Broncos, who have suffered a number of injury issues so far this campaign, are in need of a lift, and the return of Walsh should provide it.

Kevin Walters side have lost two of their opening five games, but can still be backed at 5.50 to go on and win the 2024 NRL grand final.

The Dolphins have been the surprise package so far, winning three of their opening four to sit top of the ladder.

Even so making the top eight this season will be a success and they are priced at 2.60 to play finals.

Brisbane are the hot fancies here, but the Dolphins are capable of causing an upset at Suncorp, in what is sure to be a hot atmosphere.

. What: Brisbane Broncos v Dolphins
. Where: Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
. When: 20:00 (AEST), Friday 12th April 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel, Channel 9
. Odds: Brisbane Broncos 1.36, Dolphins 3.20

Walsh back in the fold

Reece Walsh returns to the Broncos side after being forced to miss the last couple of games with a facial fracture.

Tristan Sailor has impressed when filling in at fullback, but the return of Walsh will give the Broncos a huge lift.

It is not all good news however as skipper Adam Reynolds will miss out through injury, as does Deine Mariner, who has been a try-scoring machine so far.

Corey Oates will take Mariner’s place on the wing and can be backed at 8.50 to score the first try or 2.05 to score at anytime.

Jesse Arthars has been in great form this season, scoring a try in each of the last four games, and is also 8.50 to score the first.

Brisbane won both meetings between the two sides last season, but there was nothing in it.

They won by six and eight points, and are priced at 3.25 to win by 1-12 points in this latest clash.

Dolphins out to cause upset

Wayne Bennett’s men have got the season off to a flyer and have scored a total of 94 points over the last three games.

Fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow has been a big contributor to that points tally when scoring five tries and will be a big threat again.

The Hammer, as he is known, is 2.70 to score a try at anytime, or 13.00 to grab the first of the game.

The Dolphins will be missing Herbie Farnworth and Felise Kaufusi through injury but are still capable of causing an upset.

They can be backed at 8.00 to nick the game by 1-5 points, and continue their great start to the season.
