NRL: Sea Eagles seek response against the Dolphins

After a defeat at the hands of the Newcastle Knights last time out, Manly Sea Eagles will be looking for a response as they host the Dolphins on Friday night.

Both teams are battling for a top-eight finish in the NRL this season, adding extra spice to proceedings at the Brookvale Oval this week.

Manly ready to go again

Having had a much-needed week off last week, the Sea Eagles should be feeling fresher and ready to go again against the Dolphins.

Manly have been forced to cope with their fair share of injuries recently and the week off will have given the players the chance to recuperate before going again on Friday night.

Despite suffering a head knock in the first State of Origin game, fullback Tom Trbojevic has been named to play against the Dolphins.

In another big boost for the Sea Eagles, captain Daly Cherry-Evans is back in the starting lineup, meaning Cooper Johns drops out.

Manly are the favourites at 1.40 going into this one, against a Dolphins side at 3.00 to cause an upset.

Dolphins missing suspended duo

After a 30-6 defeat at the hands of the New Zealand Warriors last time out, the Dolphins face this tricky trip to the home of the Sea Eagles.

The task has been made all the more difficult with the duo of Jarrod Wallace and Anthony Milford sidelined with three-match suspensions.

Dolphins head coach Wayne Bennett must also do without Tom Gilbert who is out of action due to a shoulder injury.

In more positive news for the visitors, hooker Jeremy Marshall-King is back in the lineup, while Poasa Faamausili returns to the pack with Herman Ese'ese and Kurt Donoghue back on the bench.

Friday’s game will be a good acid test for the Dolphins to see if they can not only finish in the top eight but be a threat to other sides if they get there.

This encounter could well be a high-scoring game at 4 Pines Park, with over 45.5 total points available at 1.91

Home advantage could prove the difference

4 Pines Park has yielded some positive results for the Sea Eagles this year, as they have won three of their five games in Brookvale.

The Dolphins meanwhile have struggled on their travels with just a single victory to their name in four matches outside of Queensland.

Manly are available at 1.91 to come out on top with -8.5 in the Line market for this one.
