New South Wales has a rich history of success in the NRL and once again the state's top teams will be battling out for the Provan-Summons Trophy this year.

Here’s a look at the Top NSW Team market and which sides can finish highest on the ladder come the end of the regular season.

Penrith Panthers

After finishing top of the standings last season and going on to win a third consecutive grand final, it’s little surprise Penrith Panthers are the shortest price at 2.20 in the Top NSW Team market.

The Panthers will be looking to make the most out of Jarome Luai before his big-money move to Wests Tigers in 2025.

Penrith have been setting the standard in recent years and don’t just turn it on for the finals, as they have finished top of the ladder in three of the last four seasons.

The Panthers will take some stopping to be denied top spot once again this season.

South Sydney Rabbitohs

Despite finishing down in ninth place on the ladder in 2023, the South Sydney Rabbitohs are 6.00 to come out on top in the Top NSW Team market.

The Rabbitohs missed out on a top-eight finish by just two points and will be determined to get back to playing finals football in 2024.

The arrival of Jack Wighton from the Canberra Raiders is a big boost for Souths but whether it will be enough to top the Panthers come the end of the regular season, remains to be seen.

Sydney Roosters

Tied with their rivals the Rabbitohs on 6.00 in this market, the Sydney Roosters will be eager to build on their strong end to the 2023 campaign.

The Roosters made a late push for the top eight and managed to finish in seventh place thanks to some excellent form in the final weeks.

Trent Robinson’s side even went on to beat the Cronulla Sharks 13-12 on the road in the elimination finals but their journey came to an end with an 18-13 defeat to Melbourne Storm in the semifinals.

If the Tricolours can pick up where they left off with their end-of-season form, then they might be able to challenge the powerful Panthers.

Cronulla Sharks

Despite finishing as the second-highest NSW side on the ladder last season, Cronulla Sharks are out at 13.00 in this market.

The Sharks have parted company with a couple of influential players ahead of the new campaign, with both Matthew Moylan and Connor Tracey moving on.

Highly-rated young centre Michael Gabrael will be hoping to fill the void left by Tracet in the backline and it will be interesting to see how he and the Sharks get on this season.

It looks like the Roosters and Rabbitohs are more fancied to challenge the Panthers to run out winners in the Top NSW Team market, however, the Sharks should not be underestimated.
