Gold Coast Titans flyer Alofiana Khan-Pereira will be out to finish top of the try-scoring charts once again when the new 2025 NRL campaign gets underway.
The race to be the NRL’s leading tryscorer was a tight battle in 2024, with just four tries separating the top four.
It looks set to be just as close once again, and Khan-Pereira is the hot fancy to come out on top again.
However there is a handful of strong contenders for the honour, so let’s take a closer look at the NRL Top Tryscorer odds.
The Gold Coast Titans may have missed out on the top eight in 2024, but that was not due to a lack of tries from Khan-Pereira.
The winger was a revelation with 24 tries in 21 games, an increase of four tries on the previous season, and he will look to carry that form into the new season.
With Des Hasler at the helm, the Titans are hoping to make some progress this season, and Khan-Pereira will be key to their chances.
Melbourne Storm have a couple of gun players on the wing and they look to push for the premiership in 2025.
Warbrick is one of them, and he will hope to be up there in the top tryscorer charts.
His return of 15 tries in 24 games in 2024 was a touch disappointing and he will be keen to kick on in 2025.
Team-mate Xavier Coates will also be a big threat and can be backed at 13.00. Coates managed just 16 games last season as injuries struck, but still managed 10 tries.
If Coates can stay fit he will definitely be up there.
Young was the top tryscorer in the 2023 NRL season when he registered 25 tries in as many games for the Newcastle Knights.
After making the switch to the Sydney Roosters, he continued to get among the tries when scoring 20 in 22 games.
That is a good return in his first season with the Roosters, and now he has bedded in, there is a good chance he will kick on in the new campaign.
Following the departure of Sunia Turuva, Brian Eto’o will shoulder the responsibility of being Penrith’s main threat on the wing.
He is more than up to the job after scoring 21 tries in 2023 and 14 tries in 2024, but he will have to move up a couple of notches if he to finish top tryscorer.
The Panthers will be pushing for their fifth premiership on the bounce so To’o should get more than enough opportunities.
If Brisbane Broncos are to bounce back after a horror 2024 and compete for the premiership, Mariner will need to fire on all cylinders.
The winger was a rare bright spark in 2024, bursting on to the scene with 17 tries in 21 games.
Mariner has the potential to move on to another level in the season ahead.
