NRL: Warriors eye back-to-back home wins

New Zealand Warriors will be looking to make home advantage count when they take on Newcastle Knights on Sunday.

The Warriors picked up their first win of the season at Go Media Stadium last start, and will be out to make it back-to-back wins on home soil.

Newcastle will also have their tails up after edging Melbourne Storm by two points last week, so a close game could be on the cards.

In Sunday’s second fixture, Cronulla Sharks need a response after being smashed by Wests Tigers in week three.

They face a Canberra Raiders side who are also looking to bounce back after suffering their first defeat of the season against the Warriors.

It is early days in the season, but there is plenty to play for as all four sides have finals aspirations in 2024.

Warriors look to kick on

. What: New Zealand Warriors v Newcastle Knights
. Where: Go Media Stadium, Auckland
. When: 15:05 (AEST), Sunday 31st March 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel, Channel 9
. Odds: New Zealand Warriors 1.36, Newcastle Knights 3.20

It had been a disappointing start to the season for the Warriors after suffering back-to-back defeats, but the win over the Raiders last start should give them a lift.

They are very strong on home soil, losing just one game in the last eight, while the venue is not a happy hunting ground for Newcastle.

The Knights have won just two of the last 15 trips to Go Media Stadium. The last win there was in 2015, so Adam O’Brien’s men will be out to snap the losing streak.

It will be O’Brien’s 100th game in charge of the Knights, so there is a bit of extra motivation, should any be needed.

The Warriors won by 30 points in the corresponding fixture last September and can be backed at 2.20 to win by 13+ points in the latest meeting.

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak will once again be a huge threat, and the winger is priced at 6.50 to score the first try of the game.

Sharks look to bite back

. What: Cronulla Sharks v Canberra Raiders
. Where: Endeavour Field, Sydney
. When: 17:15 (AEST), Sunday 31st March 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Cronulla Sharks 1.60, Canberra Raiders 2.35

Cronulla will be looking bounce back following the humiliating 32-6 loss against the Wests Tigers last week.

After looking good with two wins from two, too many errors cost them against the Tigers, and they will be out to make amends.

They will be delighted to be back on home soil, where they have won five of the last seven games, while Ronaldo Mulitalo also loves Endeavour Field.

The winger has scored 14 tries in his last 11 games there and is 7.50 to score the first on Sunday.

Canberra also suffered their first defeat of 2024 when losing by eight points in Auckland against the Warriors.

It is a special game for Jordan Rapana making his 200th appearance for the Raiders. And he is 3.40 to cap it by scoring a try at anytime.

The Raiders can also be backed at 6.50 to win the game by 1-5 points.
