Australian Racing: October Revolution chasing Grafton glory

There are four meetings set to take place on Tuesday including three seven-race cards at Grafton, Narrandera and Mackay.

Race 3 Grafton

October Revolution @ 6.50

Race 2 Narrandera

Let’s Get Festive @ 5.00

Race 6 Mackay

Track Tale @ 2.60

October to salute

The third race at Grafton is an interesting Benchmark 58 handicap set to take place over 1006m.

The track is expected to be a good 4 with Shinshinto likely to have his supporters on his first start since the end of June.

The gelding showed good form over 1100m when beaten one-and-a-half-lengths into fourth at Gold Coast Poly on his penultimate start.

The shorter distance proved no issue when beaten less than a length into second over 800m in a Benchmark 65 handicap at Ipswich subsequently and he gets a drop in grade here.

Barrier nine isn’t ideal here however and, while tactically versatile, OCTOBER REVOLUTION is preferred on this occasion.

The pick will jump from next to the rail here and, while he failed to shine when down the field over 1115m here in a Class 3 handicap on his penultimate start, he returned to form last time out.

That latest effort saw the four-year-old finish just over half-a-length down in placing third in a 1000m Benchmark 58 handicap at Taree at the start of the month.

The selection came from off the pace in that Taree event and, with the form being boosted by the victory of the fourth Titan Star since, October Revolution looks up to delivering his fourth victory.

Festive to break maiden

Mitchell Beer saddles Brave Image in the second race of the day at Narrandera with the gelding expected to have his supporters in the 1600m maiden plate.

The gelding has placed on two of his three starts this spell with the sole disappointment coming when six lengths seventh over 1400m on a heavy 9 track at Gundagai on 8th August.

The four-year-old came close to registering his first victory when beaten less than a length into second over 1400m at this venue on Saturday.

The forecast good 4 going is in his favour but it can pay to look elsewhere, with the mare LET’S GET FESTIVE the pick here.

The five-year-old performed well when coming from off the pace to finish just over four lengths back in third, one place behind Brave Image on that occasion.

However, with the step up to 1600m in his favour, he is taken to reverse form having shown good form at around this distance in the past, including when third over 1590m at Wodonga in April.

Jockey Jason Lyon, on board for the selection’s two most recent starts, is again in the saddle here and he is taken to steer the daughter of Jimmy Creed to her first victory.

Tale to resume with victory

The sixth race at Mackay, an 1100m Class 3 handicap contest set to take place on a good 4 track, sees the return of Ricky Vale’s promising speedster TRACK TALE.

The pick showed good form in her first spell winning her first two starts prior to two second place finishes.

The most recent of those victories came when winning by nearly two lengths in a handicap over this distance at Rockhampton in February.

While both wins have come on soft 5 surfaces, the filly is equally at home on a good 4 track, as evidenced by her second in the $151,000 Capricornia Classic over 1200m at Rockhampton.

That second-place finish came on her most recent outing at the start of April and, with McKenzie Apel taking three kilograms off, she looks up to returning with a victory.
