NRL: Penrith Panthers look to bounce back

Saturday is a big day in the NRL with top-four sides Penrith Panthers and Manly Sea Eagles both in action, while the Canberra Raiders also face the Dolphins.

The race to win the premiership looks set to be tighter than ever this season as there is not much to separate the top sides.

Brisbane Broncos are sitting top of the pile, but the Sea Eagles in third and the Panthers in fourth spot, are both chasing hard.

Both have games they will feel they should be winning, with Manly at home to Gold Coast Titans, while the Panthers travel to take on the winless Wests Tigers in Bathurst.

The other match-up on Saturday is also a big one as Canberra look to get over a tough week by seeing off the Dolphins, who continue to shine in their debut season.

The Raiders have had a tough week after star playmaker Jack Wighton agreed to sign for South Sydney from next season, but they must pick themselves up for a big game.

The green machine do head into the game in good touch after shocking the Broncos and beating the Dragons before the bye and can make it three wins on the bounce here.

Revenge will also be on the cards after the Dolphins beat them by six points earlier in the season.

The Dolphins have won two out of the last three games, beating the Titans and Cowboys in closely-fought derby games.

Canberra welcome back Jordan Rapana from a head injury, while the Dolphins are boosted by the return of Kenny Bromwich from suspension.

Hudson Young could be the big danger for the Raiders after scoring three tries in his past four games and he is priced at 2.90 to score anytime on Saturday.

Sea Eagles continue to impress

The Sea Eagles continue to fly high and are up to fourth spot on the ladder after winning their last two games.

They were made to work hard against a struggling Wests Tigers side, but got the job done and will be confident of doing so again against a Titans side that squandered a huge lead against the Dolphins last week.

Manly have also been lifted by the news Tom Trbojevic did not suffer a serious injury against the Tigers and the gun fullback has been passed fit to play.

The last two meetings between these two sides have been high-scoring, with the Titans outscored 71-52 in two defeats, and we could be in for another one in this match-up.

The Titans do have a good record at 4 Pines Park however, winning five out of their last seven visits to the venue, so Justin Holbrook’s side cannot be underestimated.

The Panthers will be looking to bounce back following a heart-breaking defeat to South Sydney last week when the Rabbitohs snatched the points at the death.

Ivan Cleary’s men are the hot fancies against a Tigers side who have lost all eight games so far this season.

However, they can take some heart from the way they took Manly to the wire last week before losing by six points.

Playing the game in Bathurst and away from BlueBet Stadium could help the Tigers, however the Panthers have won five of their past seven games there.

The Tigers have conceded 24 points or more in the last five games and will need to tighten up in defence to have any chance of causing a boilover.

Tyrone Peachey returns to play at centre for the Panthers and is priced at 2.70 to score anytime.
