Premier League: Perfect Reds facing tough Old Trafford test

Rivalries do not get much bigger in England than Manchester United versus Liverpool and the two sides clash for the first time this season in the early hours of Monday morning.

The Merseysiders have begun life under new coach Arne Slot in fine style, winning their opening two games, while Manchester United have won one and lost one.

Liverpool can be backed at 6.50 to win the Premier League title and they will need to continue on with their strong start to the campaign.

It is still very early days, but it is looking as though a place in the top four is the best that United can hope for.

That in itself will be a big ask, with the likes of Tottenham, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle all battling to get in there.

United are 3.40 to make the top four and win over their deadly rivals would give them a huge boost.

United need response to Albion loss

The Red Devils need to bounce back after suffering a late defeat away at Brighton last week.

However, it does not get much tougher than a clash with Liverpool, even if they are back on home turf at Old Trafford.

United have won just one game in the last 12 against Liverpool, although that win did come at Old Trafford when they edged a tight game 2-1 during the 2022/23 season.

They would take the same outcome again for sure and can be backed at 15.00 to beat Liverpool 2-1 once again.

Marcus Rashford loves playing against Liverpool and has scored seven goals against them.

All of those strikes have been at Old Trafford and he will be out to open his account for the season on Monday.

Rashford is 10.00 to grab the first goal of the game or 3.75 to score at anytime. To do that he will need to have a shot on goal, something he has failed to do in the opening two games.

Liverpool going for three in a row

Liverpool will be out to continue a perfect start to the season at a venue they enjoy playing at.

The Reds have won seven Premier League games at Old Trafford, while they have also won five of their last six games away from Anfield.

Slot's side have won the opening two games of the season against Ipswich and Brentford 2-0, but a trip to Old Trafford will be their toughest test yet.

Even so, there are likely to be goals and over 2.5 goals in the game can be backed at 1.44. Under 2.5 goals is available at 2.75.

Mohamed Salah has scored in each of the opening two games this season and has a great record against United, netting 11 goals in 13 appearances.

The strike ace is 5.50 to score the first goal of the game and 2.25 to find the net at anytime.
