After the frustration of a 1-1 draw at newly-promoted Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur are already under pressure to deliver their first Premier League win of the season against strugglers Everton on Sunday.
Ange Postecoglou was understandably downbeat following his side’s draw at the King Power Stadium earlier this week, having squandered a number of good chances against the Foxes.
Spurs next face an Everton side that have been battling against the drop for the past few years and started the new Premier League campaign with an ominous 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at Goodison Park.
A win for Spurs against the Toffees in the early hours of Sunday morning and the draw at Leicester can be put down to a case of rustiness at the start of a new campaign.
Dropped points at home to a poor Everton side however, and questions will be asked on Totteham’s top-four aspirations this season.

Looking back at the last two times Tottenham and Everton have met in the Premier League in north London, it’s fair to say this fixture has been pretty one-sided.
The Merseyside outfit have failed to score in their last two visits to Spurs, while Tottenham scored a total of seven goals across those two games.
In contrast, the last five games between these sides in the Premier League at Goodison Park have all ended in draws.
Clearly more competitive on their own patch on Merseyside, Everton have failed to bring that level of performance on their travels to the capital.
Spurs are 1.42 for the win, while a home win to nil this weekend is available at 2.62.
Postecoglou will be hoping big summer signing Dominic Solanke can get off the mark this weekend after squandering a couple of chances against Leicester.
Solanke is 2.37 to score anytime on Sunday, while the former Bournemouth striker is available at 5.50 to bag the opening goal of the game.
An opening game against Brighton was always going to be a tricky start for Everton boss Sean Dyche and his players but a 3-0 hammering at home was poor to say the least.
The Toffees now have the daunting task of travelling to a ground on Sunday where they have not scored on their last two visits.
Everton’s away record in the Premier League has been woeful, as they have not won in their last 11 league games on the road.
One has to go back to December 2023 for the last time Everton picked up three points away from home and even that was against a Burnley side that suffered relegation last season.
Everton are understandable underdogs to end their winless run on the road this weekend, with Dyche’s side at 6.50 to head back north with the three points.
