Premier League: Villa look to pile more misery on United

Aston Villa will be keen to build on a strong start to the Premier League season when they take on Manchester United on Sunday night.

Six games into the new season and Villa are sitting in fifth spot on the ladder and look set to mount another push for the top four.

Villa made it in to the top four last season to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, and they can be backed at 4.33 to do the same again.

It is a very different story for Manchester United as they struggle to find any kind of form under the leadership of Erik ten Hag.

The Reds are down in 13th place on the ladder and need to get their act together quickly if they are to have any chance of making the top four.

They are 5.00 to do it and a win at Villa Park would be a good place to start. But it is far easier said than done.

Villa on a high

Aston Villa will be delighted with the way their Premier League campaign has started, winning four of their opening six games.

Their one defeat did come on home soil, but that was against Arsenal, and although disappointing, there is no great shame in that.

Wolves and Everton have been beaten at Villa Park this season, but the result of the season so far came in the UEFA Champions League on Thursday morning (AEST).

Villa pulled off a remarkable 1-0 victory over the mighty Bayern Munich, so should still be buzzing by the time they play United.

Jhon Duran was the hero when coming off the bench to score the only goal, and he can be backed at 3.25 to score at anytime against United.

Villa have had no issues scoring goals this season, finding the back of the net on 12 occasions in the Premier League.

But they have also conceded nine and could do with tightening things up at the back moving forward.

Over 2.5 goals in Sunday’s clash can be backed at 1.57, while under 2.5 goals is available at 2.37.

United need to respond

Manchester United’s season took another turn for the worse when they were hammered 3-0 by Tottenham at Old Trafford in their last Premier League game.

Some of the defending on show once again left a lot to be desired, and also left the Reds faithful very frustrated.

There has yet to be any sign of improvement this season, with United managing to win two Premier League games so far.

A win at Villa Park could be the turning point of their season, and they managed to do that in the last campaign.

Back in February they ran out 2-1 winners and could do with the same again.

United can be backed at 12.00 to pick up the same scoreline and win 2-1 on Sunday.

Manchester United have only managed to score five Premier League goals so far, and have conceded eight.
