Big Bash preview: Brisbane Heat v Sydney Sixers

Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers clash in the qualifying final on Friday night, with the winner going straight through to the BBL 13 final.

The Heat have home advantage after finishing top of the ladder at the end of the regular season, while the Sixers finished second.

The Sixers beat the Perth Scorchers in a thriller at Optus Stadium on Tuesday night to jump into second spot and will get another bite of the cherry should they lose on Friday.

The Sixers are now the hot fancies at 2.50 to go all the way and win BBL 13, with the Heat priced at 2.87.

The Scorchers, who now entertain Adelaide Strikers in the knock-out at Optus, can be backed at 4.50. The Strikers are 8.00.

Heat ready to fire

The Heat have had an outstanding BBL 13 campaign and fully deserved to be top of the pile, which earned them a home qualifying final.

They would have preferred it to be at the Gabba, where they have excelled this season, but instead will head to the Gold Coast and Carrara Stadium.

It should still give them the edge and as long as the players that have performed so well all campaign step up again, they are in with a great shout.

The Heat disappointed when losing by 35 runs to the Scorchers in Perth last start, but did beat them the game before in Brisbane.

On that occasion Michael Neser was the star of the show with the bat when scoring 64 not out off 30 deliveries.

They will need to put on a big score on Friday night, and have the likes of Matt Renshaw, Jimmy Peirson and Nathan McSweeney who can get them there.

The latter is priced at 4.00 to be Team - Top Batter.

Brisbane also have a bowling attack that can rip through any batting line-up when in full flow.

Neser, Xavier Bartlett, Spencer Johnson, Matthew Kuhnemann, Mitchell Swepson and Paul Walter have all shone this season.

Bartlett can be backed at 4.50 to be Team – Top Bowler.

Sixers arrive on a high

The Sydney Sixers will be full of confidence after beating the Scorchers in their own back yard on Tuesday night.

The Sixers had it all to do after the Scorchers set a target of 198 to win the game. It was a record run chase for the Sixers and went to the very last delivery of the match, before Moises Henriques hit the winning runs.

Daniel Hughes was the star man on the night when smashing 74 runs off 43 deliveries, earning the accolade of player of the match.

Hughes can be backed at 5.50 to be Team - Top Batter once again, while Henriques is 6.00.

Henriques finished 47 not out and managed to keep a cool a head as all around him were losing theirs in a dramatic finish.

More of the same could be needed on the Gold Coast in what could well be another thriller between two very evenly-matched teams.
