Big Bash preview: Perth Scorchers v Sydney Sixers

Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers will be battling it out to finish second on the ladder when they clash at Optus Stadium on Tuesday.

Brisbane Heat already have top spot in the bag and are waiting to see who they will play in the qualifying final on Friday.

Whoever finishes second will get a double chance, should they need it, in finals, so the clash between the Scorchers and Sixers is huge.

The Sixers have to win to leapfrog over the Scorchers to set up a clash with the Heat in Brisbane.

Perth Scorchers are 2.87 to go on and win BBL 13, while the Sixers can be backed at 4.33. The Heat are also 2.87 but do have the advantage of being on home soil in the opening match of finals.

It will be a very tough game whoever they face, as will the clash between the Scorchers and Sixers.

Scorchers back at the furnace

The Scorchers are back where they love to be, Optus Stadium, and home advantage could be key as they look to lock in second spot.

They have slipped to just two defeats in this campaign, and both have been on the road in Adelaide and Brisbane.

But back at Optus they are stronger than ever, as they showed when beating Brisbane Heat by 35 runs on Saturday.

After winning the toss and opting to bat, the Scorchers made 163/6 off their 20 overs, with the big score coming from an unlikely source.

The Scorchers were 83/5 and in a spot of bother before Nick Hobson came to the crease. Hobson then made 48 runs off 30 deliveries to help his side set a respectable target.

Hobson can be backed at 19.00 to be Team - Top Batter once again, but the Scorchers will be hoping some of their guns further up the order can return to form.

Zak Crawley has now departed, but Aaron Hardie is priced at 4.00 to take the accolade.

The Scorchers bounced back well with the ball when dismissing the Heat for just 128 runs.

Andrew Tye was the pick of the bowlers with 4-14, while Lance Morris also took 3-26.

Tye and Morris are both priced at 4.00 to be Team - Top Bowler against the Sixers.

Sixers starting to hit form

Sydney Sixers could be peaking at just the right time after winning their last two matches against Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars.

One more and they will finish the regular season in second and earn a double shot in finals.

Josh Philippe was the star with the bat during the 19-run win over the Thunder.

He scored 47 runs off 35 deliveries and is 4.00 to be Team - Top Batter against the Scorchers.

Steve O’Keefe also starred with the ball when taking 3-13 off his four overs as the Thunder were bowled out for 132.

O’Keefe is priced at 5.50 to be Team - Top Bowler.
