Jamayne Isaako is flourishing later on in his career and was one of the standout players during the 2023 NRL campaign.
Set to star again in 2024, we take a look at the Dolphins star’s background and career to date.
Name | Jamayne Isaako |
Club | Dolphins |
Position | Winger |
Age | 27 |
Total points scored | 818 |
The Dolphins impressed in spells during their debut NRL campaign in 2023, but fell short of making the top eight and playing finals.
That will be the aim in the season ahead and the Dolphins can be backed at 4.00 to make the top eight.
A top-four finish is available at 8.00.
Isaako was a revelation last season when scoring most tries in the NRL, while he was also the top points scorer of the season.
The winger can be backed at 15.00 to be top tryscorer once again in 2024 and, due to his ability to also kick goals, is 5.00 to be top points scorer.
Isaako was born in Christchurch, New Zealand and played his junior rugby league with the Aranui Eagles.
Isaako got his big move to the NRL with the Cronulla Sharks, representing their Under-20s side in 2014 and 2015.
He made the switch to the Brisbane Broncos Under-20’s in 2016 before making his NRL debut for the club in 2017.
Isaako went on to make 77 appearances for the Broncos during a six-year stint, and scored a total of 532 points, which included 24 tries and 217 goals.
The winger then spent a season with Gold Coast Titans, before penning a three-year deal with the newly formed Dolphins in 2023.
Isaako has flourished under the leadership of coach Wayne Bennett, scoring 24 tries and booting 73 goals in 24 appearances.
As well as taking the awards for top trycorer and top points scorer at the Dally M awards, Isaako was also named best winger of the year, along with New Zealand Warriors star Dallin Watene-Zelezniak.
Isaako has represented New Zealand on nine occasions between 2018 and 2023, scoring seven tries and kicking 30 goals.
Isaako will be a marked man in 2024 as the opposition will be more aware of his capabilities after an explosive 2023 campaign.
However, he looks sure to be one of the stars of the NRL once again in 2024.
His ability to score tries and kick goals makes him very dangerous and he will be key to the Dolphins chances of making the top eight.
