Australian Racing: Race fit Rosovo ready for Warwick Farm test

There’s five meetings set to take place on Wednesday including metro fixtures at Warwick Farm and Eagle Farm.

Race 5 Warwick Farm

Rosovo @ 18/5

Race 4 Eagle Farm

Spill The Secret @ 5/1

Race 3 Belmont Park

Work In Progress @ 6/5

Rosovo for Warwick Farm success

The fifth at Warwick Farm is an interesting 1600m Benchmark 72 contest. A good 4 surface is forecast for the competitive looking 11-runner contest.

Top weight The Milkybar Kid is expected to have plenty of supporters for jockey Joshua Parr.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained gelding won three of his five starts last spell. The most recent of those came by five-and-a-half-lengths over 2140m when racing at this level in July.

That effort came on a heavy 10 track as did his subsequent third over 2200m in a six runner event here.

Good going here is no issue however having broken his maiden on a good 4 track at Wyong second up last spell.

The race fit Rosovo is preferred on this occasion however. James Cummings’ charge has placed on four of his five starts this time around with the exception coming over 1900m at Canterbury last start.

Previously had suffered a narrow defeat when beaten into second over 1800m on a good 4 track in a similar race to this at Rosehill on his penultimate start.

A draw in six is a positive for the pick's chances with claimer Reece Jones, on board at Rosehill returning to the saddle here.

Versatile with regards tactics, the Animal Kingdom gelding looks up to registering career win number three.

Secret to break maiden

Glide On By looks to hold strong claims of taking the fourth race at Eagle Farm.

The race in question is a 1400m maiden contest with the son of Caravaggio representing the Tony Gollan stable.

Glide On By delivered a fourth-place finish over 1200m on a soft 7 track at Ipswich on debut early last month.

However, the filly took a marked step forward upped to this trip when a length third over this track and trip subsequently.

That effort came on the good 4 track forecast for this contest with the booking of Kyle Wilson-Taylor a positive.

Spill The Secret is selected to get the better of Glide On By on this occasion however.

Trained by Michael Lakey, the experienced gelding finished runner-up on two of his five starts last spell.

The most recent of those efforts came when beaten less than a length in a 1300m maiden on a good 4 track at Gold Coast in July.

Registered a solid two-and-a-half-lengths third over 1100m at the same venue when racing first up this spell.

Shapes as if this extra distance will suit and with a good barrier is taken to get off the mark under Justin P Stanley.

Progress to double up

The third race at Belmont Park is a small field 1000m Class 1 sprint contest. Stephen Miller does well at this venue and saddles Beach West.

The three-year-old filly broke her maiden at Northam in a 1300m contest in August.

However, she improved for her return last spell and likely favourite Work In Progress is the selection here.

Daniel Morton’s charge showed ability in three starts at this venue last spell. Delivered an improved effort switched to a maiden when winning over this course and distance on a good 4 track last month.

That victory came on her return from a break with regular jockey Chris Parnham in the saddle.

Parnham is again engaged to ride here and the pick is taken to complete a double racing from off the pace.
