A-League: Reds look to bounce back

Adelaide United will be looking to bounce back from a shock 5-1 defeat against Sydney FC, when they take on Western United on Sunday.

The Reds were unbeaten up until that point, while Sydney had not picked up a point, so no-one saw that drubbing coming.

They will have been licking their wounds during the international break, and you can expect Carl Veart’s men to come out with all guns blazing against Western.

Adelaide can still be backed at 7.00 to win the A-League grand final this season and they will want to get back on track straight away.

In the other game on Sunday, Brisbane Roar will be out to build on their strong start to the season against a Perth Glory side that are just two places and three points below them.

Brisbane Roar have had the edge over Perth Glory in recent seasons, winning four of the last six games between the two sides.

They have also managed to win all three games that have been played at Suncorp Stadium, so it is no surprise they are the hot fancies.

There is never usually more than one goal in it though, so we could be in for another tight game on Sunday.

Roar have won two of the games at Suncorp, 2-1, and the same scoreline again can be backed at 8.50.

Henry Hore has started the season well when chipping in with a couple of goals, and he can be backed at 2.62 to score at anytime.

Glory’s dangerman is Adam Taggart and he can be backed at 7.50 to grab the first goal of the game.

Glory have four points from four games, but they have yet to get the job done on the road this season.

In fairness they have been tough games at Wellington Phoenix and Western Sydney Wanderers, losing 2-1 and 2-0 respectively.

Western out to stop the rot

Odds Western United FC 2.50, Draw 3.50, Adelaide United 2.40

Western United started the season well with a shock 2-1 win away at Melbourne City, but it has all been downhill from there.

They have lost three games on the bounce, including a 5-0 drubbing against Western Sydney Wanderers.

The last two have been narrow 1-0 defeats against Macarthur and Newcastle Jets, and they will need to tighten up against an Adelaide side that loves to score goals.

Western did cause an upset set when winning 1-0 in Adelaide back in April, but the Reds won the previous two games in high-scoring affairs.

The Reds won this fixture 3-2 and 4-2 the last two times it was played in Melbourne and over 2.5 goals can be backed at 1.53.

Adelaide have goal threats all over the pitch and Oliveira Bernardo, who has two goals to his name already this season, is a good price at 3.50 to score at anytime.
