A-League: Reds to keep slim top-six hopes alive

Adelaide United have to beat Western United on Tuesday night to keep alive their slim hopes of pushing their way into the top six.

The Reds have three games remaining and have to win them all to have any chance of playing finals this season.

They would still need a heap of other results to go their way and that is why they are priced at 34.00 to make it.

But, while there is still hope, they will continue to battle on and three points against Western is a must.

Western are also battling to avoid the wooden spoon and need the points to pull away from Perth Glory, who sit rock bottom.

John Aloisi’s side are level on points with Glory, but have played a game less and are priced at 2.75 to finish bottom are hitting some decent form in recent weeks.

Western out to avoid wooden spoon

Western United have all to play for with three games of the season remaining and they are in need of a win over Adelaide.

The following game sees them travel to Perth Glory and they would love to have a three-point cushion heading into that game.

Western have shown some signs of improvement in recent weeks, winning two out of the last five games, while they have also drawn one.

They head into this match on the back of a 2-0 home defeat against a Central Coast Mariners side who look set to win the minor premiership.

There is no disgrace in that, so the mood in the Western camp should still be high.

Western do not have the greatest record against Adelaide however, having won just one game in the last six against them.

They have suffered 4-1 and 3-1 defeats in the last two games against Adelaide and over 2.5 goals in Tuesday night’s clash can be backed at 1.33, while both teams to score is also available at 1.33.

Daniel Penha remains the biggest threat for Western and the forward can be backed at 2.50 to score at anytime in the game.

Reds need to bounce back

Adelaide saw their three-match winning streak come to an end as they slipped to a 2-1 home defeat against Macarthur at the weekend.

The loss put a massive dent in their top-six hopes and nothing other than three points will do against Western.

Nestory Irankunda continues to shine for the Reds and the striker grabbed their only goal in the defeat to the Bulls.

The strike ace can be backed at 7.00 to score the first goal of the game, or 2.60 to score at anytime.

Adelaide have won their last three trips to Western, scoring at least three goals in each game.

The last visit saw them win 3-1 and the same scoreline again can be backed at 17.00.
