Richmond v Adelaide: AFL Sunday preview

Adelaide should be well rested after the bye and need to return to winning ways when they take on Richmond at the MCG.

The Crows had been flying high with three wins on the bounce before they came crashing down to earth against Hawthorn.

They paid the price for being wasteful in front of goal against the Hawks before they took a week off for the bye.

A big win against the Tigers is now the order of the day, but they do not have a good record against them.

The Tigers have dominated recent encounters, and although they have just three wins this season, number four cannot be ruled out.

Richmond have caused a couple of upsets already in 2025 and cannot be written off.

Tigers have edge over Crows

Richmond may be in 17th spot on the ladder with just three wins in 2025, but they do have the sign over the Crows.

They have won four of the last five meetings, including an eight-point win in Adelaide in Round 13 last season.

If the Tigers are to come out on top again, it is likely to be another close one, and they can be backed at 11.00 to win by 1-12 points.

Tim Taranto has been a key player for the Tigers this season when averaging just under 26 disposals a game.

The midfielder will need to be at the top of his game once again and he can be backed at 1.65 to collect 25+ disposals on Sunday.

Crows rested and ready

Adelaide had a week off for the bye and will be itching to get back out on the park after losing to Hawthorn in their last game.

The Crows should come out with fire in their bellies and they can be backed at 3.25 to win the first quarter by 19+ points.

They may have been wasteful in front of goal against the Hawks, but Riley Thilthorpe remains in good touch.

The key forward has been averaging two goals a game in 2025 and is priced at 8.50 to boot the first of the game against the Tigers.

The Crows have been tight in defence all season, conceding an average of just 60 points in the last nine matches.

With that in mind, Richmond are priced at 1.85 to score under 67.5 points on Sunday.
