Brisbane Broncos will be targeting back-to-back victories when they clash with Cronulla Sharks on Sunday at Suncorp Stadium.
The Broncos snapped a four-game losing streak with a dominant win over the Titans before having a week off thanks to the bye.
They return to action on Sunday and will be desperate to carry on where they left off, by beating the Sharks.
Cronulla were also given a confidence boost with a win over the Dragons in their last game.
It came on the back of two straight defeats, and they will now be out to close the gap on the top four.
Both these sides have premiership aspirations, but the first job is to secure finals football, making Sunday’s clash an even bigger one.
The Broncos got themselves back on track with a dominant 44-14 win over the Titans before the bye, and now need to kick on.
Despite a disappointing start to the season, they still sit in seventh spot on the ladder, and are in a strong position to play finals.
Next up is a clash with the Sharks, who they have beaten in nine of the last 12 games, and they need to make it 10.
There has been little to choose between the two sides in recent meetings and if it is to be another close one, they are 3.40 to win by 1-12 points.
State of Origin duo Pat Carrigan and Payne Haas have both been named to play and will be crucial to Brisbane’s chances of getting the win.
So too will Gehamat Shibasaski, who has scored seven tries in his last seven games at Suncorp stadium.
The centre can be backed at 2.75 to grab another at anytime.
The Sharks also returned to winning ways with a 30-18 win over the Dragons last week.
Sione Katoa grabbed a brace of tries in that game and can be backed at 9.50 to score the first try or 2.10 to score at anytime.
The Sharks can take heart from the fact they have won the last three games they have played at Suncorp Stadium.
Including a 10-point win over the Broncos at the venue in Round 14, 2024.
All in all, they have won 10 out of 26 games at Suncorp, and will be hopeful of securing win number 11 on Sunday.
They can be backed at 3.75 to win the game by 1-12 points.
On average Cronulla are scoring 23 points a game this season, and are priced at 1.80 to score over 20.5 points against the Broncos.
