New Zealand Warriors v North Queensland Cowboys: NRL Saturday Preview

Magic Round continues on Saturday with a top-six showdown at Suncorp Stadium between New Zealand Warriors and North Queensland Cowboys.

The Warriors have found their form again in 2025 and find themselves in fourth spot on the ladder after winning five from seven.

They will be heading into the game full of confidence but will have to overcome a Suncorp hoodoo, as the venue has not been a happy hunting ground.

North Queensland should also be feeling good about themselves as they sit in sixth spot following four wins from seven.

They have won four on the bounce and will be on a high as they smashed the Gold Coast Titans at the weekend.

Suncorp struggles for Warriors

The Warriors are on a great run of form, but they will have to be at their best to snap an alarming losing streak at Suncorp.

They have lost six of their last seven games at the venue, and have won just seven out of the 24 games they have played there.

However they could not ask for a better opponent as they look to start reversing that trend.

The Warriors have beaten the Cowboys in four of the last five fixtures, including a 30-point win when they met in 2024.

It is likely to be a closer game on this occasion, and the Warriors are a big price at 4.50 to win by 13+ points.

The Warriors also have the added bonus of being able to select the same side that dismantle the Knights last weekend.

Adam Pompey grabbed two tries in the 26-12 win and is 2.05 to score at anytime on Saturday.

Cowboys eye five in a row

It has been a remarkable turnaround for the Cowboys, who after losing their opening three games of the season, have gone on to win the next four.

They were on fire against the Titans as they ran in nine tries to win 50-18 in the Round 8 clash.

Robert Derby helped himself to three of the tries and can be backed at 7.50 to score the first of the game.

Even though they do not have a good record against the Warriors, they do have a good record at Suncorp, winning 14 of the 33 games they have played there.

Being in Queensland can be viewed as an advantage and the Cowboys are 3.60 to win by 13+ points.

They have scored an average of 23 points this season and are 1.75 to score over 22.5 points against the Warriors.
