NRL Outright Odds: Storm gathering support

The 2025 NRL season is drawing closer and Melbourne Storm are gaining support as they look to end the dominance of the Penrith Panthers.

The Storm will be out for revenge in the season ahead after losing the 2024 grand final against the Panthers, who have won four titles in a row.

Penrith will take some stopping as they target premiership number five, but both the Storm, and possibly the Brisbane Broncos, could throw a spanner in the works.

There has been some movement in the outright odds market, so let’s take a look at the very latest odds for the 2025 NRL campaign.

NRL Outright Odds

Melbourne Storm

Melbourne Storm showed their quality when winning the minor premiership in 2024, before losing to the Panthers in the grand final.

The Storm were rocked by a suspension to star enforcer Nelson Asofa-Solomona, who missed the missed the big dance.

His absence was a huge blow and could have been the difference between the two sides, with the Panthers edging a close game 14-6.

If Asofa-Solomona can keep his discipline in check and stay on the field, then Craig Bellamy’s side are in with a huge chance.

The Storm have a side packed with quality, including Cameron Munster, Jahrome Hughes, Ryan Papenhuyzen and Harry Grant and it is crucial they stay fit.

Their price is in to 3.75 and many clearly believe they will be the team to beat this NRL season.

Penrith Panthers

While the Storm have shortened a touch, the Panthers have moved the other way and drifted to 4.75.

The departures of Jarome Luai, Sunia Turuva and James Fisher-Harris, means the jury is still out on whether the Panthers can win a fourth premiership on the spin.

They have seen big players move on in each of the last two seasons and have still managed to defend their crown, so cannot be written off.

A lot will depend on new signings Blaize Tuilagi and Isaiah Papali’i and whether they can fill the boots of the players who have moved on.

Brisbane Broncos

The Broncos have also shortened to 8.00 with many believing that new coach Michael Maguire can guide them to a premiership.

He has done it before with South Sydney Rabbitohs and has the players to go all the way if he can keep them fit and firing.

Something was missing in 2024 as the Broncos faltered, and Maguire could be the missing link to get them back to the top of the pile.

Cronulla Sharks

The Sharks have shortened to 13.00 to win the 2025 grand final and are emerging as a potential dark horse to go all the way.

Craig Fitzgibbon’s side have been in the mix for the last couple of seasons, but their performances in finals have let them down.

The addition of frontrower Addin Fonou-Blake to an already strong forward pack, is a big move by the Sharks and could take them to the next level.
