NSW Women v Queensland Women: Blues out to end Maroons dominance

New South Wales will be out to wrap up the State of Origin Women series when they take on Queensland in game two on Thursday.

The Blues hold a 1-0 lead in the three-game series and on home soil at Allianz Stadium they will be desperate to end the Queensland dominance.

However, Queensland showed what they are capable of when bouncing back from 1-0 in 2024, to claim the series 2-1.

The Maroons will believe they have what it takes to do the same again and will head to Sydney fired up for the win.

State of Origin Women is getting stronger by the year and another fierce battle will be on the cards in front of big crowd on Thursday night.

Blues eyeing series glory

New South Wales have a great chance to pick up the win and wrap up the State of Origin Women series in front of their own fans.

They were 1-0 up last year before letting it slip, but the difference in 2025 is that they are on home soil, which should be a big advantage.

The Blues also dominated game one when winning 32-12 at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, so should be full of confidence.

New South Wales are the hot fancies once again and can be backed at 2.75 to win the game by 13+ points.

Coach John Strange is in the strong position of being able to name the same 17 that played so well in Queensland.

Jayme Fressard was in great form at Suncorp when scoring two of NSW’s six tries on the night.

The winger can be backed at 8.00 to score the first try of the game, or 1.95 to score at anytime in the game.

Maroons looking to bounce back

Queensland will have been licking their wounds since the game one defeat and will be desperate to bounce back at Allianz.

They may have to travel into enemy territory, but can take heart from the fact they have won the last two games played in Sydney.

However, there will need to be a huge improvement on the performance they put in during game one.

Changes have been made to bolster a forward pack that was out-muscled in Queensland and the Maroons will hope to get the desires response.

If they are to bounce back and level the series at 1-1, it is likely to be a tight encounter.

Queensland can be backed at 4.00 to win the game by 1-12 points.
