Sydney Roosters v North Queensland Cowboys: NRL Sunday preview

Sydney Roosters will be out for back-to-back wins on Sunday when they take on North Queensland Stadium.

The Roosters picked up a controversial win over Newcastle Knights last weekend, and now need to back it up against the Cowboys.

A host of players return to the fold following State of Origin and both sides need the points as they push for the top eight.

The Cowboys were hammered by the Dolphins in their last game and have now suffered heavy defeats in the last two.

Sydney Roosters have a poor record at Allianz Stadium this season, and that could give the Cowboys some hope heading into the game.

Roosters struggle at Allianz

The Roosters will need to improve their form at Allianz Stadium if they are to break into the top eight and play finals.

They have lost four from five at the venue this season, and need to turn that around, starting against the Cowboys.

The Bondi outfit will be boosted by their returning Origin stars and remain the hot favourites heading into the game.

Trent Robinson’s side can be backed at 2.35 to win the game by 13+ points.

James Tedesco has a good record at Allianz, even if the Roosters don’t.

The fullback has scored 11 tries in the last 13 games, and is priced at 2.45 to grab another at anytime.

Cowboys look to bounce back

The Cowboys will have been licking their wounds all week following a record home defeat against the Dolphins last week.

They leaked 10 tries in a 58-4 loss, and Todd Payten will be expecting a response from his team.

North Queensland can take heart from the fact they have beaten the Roosters in the last two meetings, the lost recent one being at Allianz.

It was by just two points, but a win is a win, and they can be backed at 4.00 to win by 1-12 points on this occasion too.

The Cowboys are also boosted by their returning Origin stars, including Queenslanders Tom Dearden and Reuben Cotter.

Reece Robson is also back and has scored four tries in six games against the Roosters.

The hooker is a big price at 9.50 to score a try at anytime.
