The Blues and Brumbies will both be searching for their second wins of the Super Rugby Pacific season when they clash on Friday.
Both teams have played three, won one and lost two, so there is plenty on the line even at this early stage of the season.
The Blues are one of the hot fancies to go all the way and win the 2025 grand final and will be keen to get on a winning run sooner rather than later.
The Brumbies also have high hopes of not just making finals, but going deep into them, so they cannot afford many more slip ups either.
It all adds to the prospect of an intriguing clash at Eden Park and one that neither side can afford to lose.
After losing their opening two games of the season, the Blues finally got their campaign up and running with a hard-fought win over the Hurricanes.
They edged the game 33-29 and now back on home soil they will look to build on that victory.
The Blues do have a great record against the Brumbies and have won the last six games against them at Eden Park.
You have to go way back to 2013 to find a time that the Brumbies last beat the Blues at the venue, so it will be a massive upset if they snap the streak on Friday.
However, the Blues have not been at their best so far in 2025 and will have to tighten up defensively if they are to make it back-to-back wins.
They have conceded 25 plus points in each game played this season, which is very uncharacteristic of them.
Ricky Riccitelli has been in good form, scoring a try in each of the last two games, while he has also scored in each of the last three games against the Brumbies.
The hooker will be out to keep that run going on Friday.
The Brumbies will attempt to bounce back after losing the last two games, but they head into the clash low on confidence.
Both defeats have seen them concede 45 plus points, the first time this has happened to them in back-to-back games.
Now they will try and bounce back at a venue that has been a graveyard for them in the last 12 years.
Indeed, any kind of trip to New Zealand has been tough for them in recent seasons. They have won just three of their last 26 games against Kiwi teams in New Zealand.
The task on Friday night is a huge one, but there can be no room for complacency from the Blues on Friday night.
