Brumbies v Hurricanes: Super Rugby Saturday Preview

The Brumbies are starting to build up some winning momentum and they will be brimming with confidence when they host the Hurricanes at GIO Stadium on Saturday.

Stephen Larkham’s side are currently on a three-game winning streak after victories over the Highlanders, Reds and most recently Moana Pasifika.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes only lost two games across the regular season in the 2024 campaign but they have already been beaten five times in nine games this term.

Now a tough trip to Canberra awaits the Wellington outfit, with Larkham’s men eyeing a seven win of the 2025 campaign this weekend.

Brumbies hit their stride

Facing a potential banana skin last time out, the Brumbies passed their test with flying colours as they landed a 24-0 against Moana Pasifika in Auckland.

A resolute defensive performance will have pleased Larkham and the Brumbies will require a similar display if they are to overcome the Hurricanes this weekend in Round 11.

The Brumbies have won five of their last six Super Rugby Pacific games against the Hurricanes and can make it three wins on the bounce against the Wellington outfit with victory on Sunday.

Larkham’s men are 1.50 favourites to win and add to the Hurricanes’ recent woes.

Hurricanes need to turn the corner

Winless in their last three games, head coach Clark Laidlaw is desperately seeking the answers to get his side back to the form that saw them finish top of the ladder at the end of the 2024 regular season.

Losing to both the Blues and the Crusaders, the Hurricanes were held to a 17-17 draw against the Western Force in Perth last time out.

Struggling to have the firepower to come out on top in games of late, the Canes are 2.75 underdogs to come away from GIO Stadium with the victory this weekend.

One of the bright sparks for the Hurricanes against the Force was Fehi Fineanganofo as he bagged himself a brace of tries in Perth.

The 22-year-old winger is a man in form and will be looking to add to his three Super Rugby Pacific tries for the season this weekend.
