Cronulla Sharks v South Sydney Rabbitohs: NRL Sunday Preview

South Sydney Rabbitohs will be out to continue their unbeaten start to the 2025 NRL campaign when they travel to take on the Cronulla Sharks on Sunday.

Following a disastrous 2024 campaign, the Bunnies are back on track, and that is largely down to the fact that Wayne Bennett is back on board as head coach.

The Rabbitohs are missing key players, but Bennett continues to work his magic, and they have won the opening two games.

Now they face their biggest test yet against a Sharks side that have won one and lost one.

Craig Fitzgibbon’s men should be feeling good about themselves after smashing the Cowboys last week, but need to back it up at Shark Park.

Both sides have their eyes on the top four this season, so Saturday’s game is a big one.

Sharks back on track

After losing to the Penrith Panthers in Las Vegas, the Sharks bounced back in fine style when crushing the Cowboys 36-12 in Townsville.

The Sharks ran in seven tries and will look to take that form into the clash against the Rabbitohs.

They do have a good record against Souths, winning the last three meetings, and now have a great chance to make it four.

This fixture in 2024 saw the Sharks win by 14 points, and they can be backed at 1.65 to win by 13+ on this occasion as well.

Sam Stonestreet is in great form for the Sharks, having scored eight tries in the last five games.

The talented winger can be backed at 6.00 to score the first try of the game or 1.53 to score at anytime in the game.

Craig Fitzgibbon is boosted by the fact that he can name the same 17 that beat the Cowboys last weekend.

Bunnies are bouncing

South Sydney are bouncing after winning their opening two games against the Dolphins and Dragons, but a trip to Shark Park will be a bigger test.

They have won just one game out of the last six at the venue and have lost the last three games against the Sharks.

However, with Wayne Bennett at the helm, anything is possible, and they can be backed at 7.00 to win by 1-12 points.

Souths are still missing star duo Latrell Mitchell and Cameron Murray, but there is good news as Jack Wighton returns from suspension.

The centre can be backed at 4.25 to grab a try at anytime.
