Crusaders v Reds: Super Rugby Sunday preview

Crusaders will be keen to bounce back to winning ways when they entertain Queensland Reds in Super Rugby Pacific on Sunday.

They have started the season with a win and a defeat, which came in the form of a 49-24 loss at the Chiefs last week.

Now they have the chance to bounce back on home soil, but will not be easy against a Reds side who have started strongly.

Victories in their opening two matches have helped the Reds to a lofty position on the ladder and they will be out to make it three on the spin.

The Reds snapped a 12-game losing run against the Crusaders the last time they met and will take heart from that win.

However, doing it at the Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch is another level of test altogether.

Home comforts to suit Crus

The Crusaders have made the Apollo Projects Stadium in Christchurch a fortress and will look to keep their strong run going on Sunday.

They beat the Hurricanes by eight points in the opening game of the campaign and have won five of their last six games on home soil.

The Crus have also been strong against the Reds, winning 13 games out of 15 against them in Christchurch.

However, there can be no room for complacency as their record against Australian sides recently has not been great, losing their last two.

Kyle Preston has been one standout for the Crusaders so far this season, scoring a total of four tries in the opening two games.

Preston can be backed at 2.20 to score another at anytime in the game on Sunday.

Reds target three in a row

The Reds have got off to a flyer picking up wins over Moana Pasifika at home and then Western Force away from home.

However, the trip to take on the Crusaders is a different kettle of fish.

They did win by five points in the last encounter, but that was on their own patch and their form in Christchurch does not make for happy reading.

Filipo Daugunu will be key to their chances of pulling off a surprise win, having scored a try in each of the last two games.

He can be backed at 13.00 to score the first try on Sunday, or 2.00 to score at anytime.
