NRL: Sea Eagles and Broncos on collision course

There’s another mouth-watering encounter to look forward to in the second game of Magic Round weekend as Manly Sea Eagles face the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.

Both sides go into this encounter on the back of defeats and they will both be seeking a response on what is set to be a thrilling weekend of NRL action.

After suffering defeat at the hands of the Gold Coast Titans last time out, things don’t get any easier for Manly as they make the trip north for Friday’s showdown with Brisbane.

Brookvale has been a fortress for the Sea Eagles but it was the Titans who managed to come away from Sydney with the 26-10 victory to leave Manly in sixth place on the ladder.

With four wins and a draw from their first eight games of the NRL campaign, there have already been highs and lows for the Seagulls but by and large it can be seen as a solid start.

Anthony Seibold will have to make changes, with Jake Trbojevic out with a calf injury and Sean Keppie coming into the fold.

The Sea Eagles, who are underdogs at 4.00 for the win, will be boosted by the returns of Brad Parker and Toluta'u Koula from their respective knee issues.

Ben Trobjevic is back from a hamstring injury and returns to the bench alongside Aaron Woods, who replaces the suspended Toafofoa Sipley.

Brisbane eyeing response

Brisbane head coach Kevin Walters will be looking to see a response from his players after a 32-6 hammering at the hands of the South Sydney Rabbitohs last time out.

It was a heavy defeat for a Broncos side that had only lost one previous game, but they are still riding high at the top of the NRL table after their first nine games of the campaign.

Brisbane will be boosted by the returns of Payne Haas and Ezra Mam, available at 2.80 to score Anytime, who are both back from suspension to face Manly.

Keenan Palasia moves back to the bench, while Jock Madden finds himself back in the reserves.

Points on the cards at Suncorp

Games between these sides tend to be high-scoring affairs when they have met in the Magic Round, with the Broncos running out 38-0 winners last season.

The year before, it was the Sea Eagles who ran riot, with Manly winning 50-6. Over 55 points to be scored in the game on Friday night is available at 4.00.

Brisbane to get back to winning ways and to come out on top by 13+ points is also on offer at 2.00.
