The penultimate race at Narromine is an 1100m Benchmark 58 handicap set to take place on a good 4 track.
Cameron Crockett’s Where’stheprofit made the perfect start to his career when debuting with a win and he is expected to start favourite.
The gelding raced close to the speed when making his debut over this distance in a maiden held on a good 4 surface at Mudgee earlier this month.
Prior to that the five-year-old had recorded a narrow margin victory in a 900m barrier trial on a wet surface at Scone just over a month ago.
While the son of Divine Prophet rates highly in this contest he lacks the experience of some of his rivals and, with that in mind, SIMPLY BETTER is preferred.
The mare is a dual winner this year, having recorded her fifth career victory when successful by a length in an 1100m Benchmark 58 handicap at Wellington at the start of this month.
The 9.00 selection raced on a soft 6 track that day, with her previous win this prep having come over 1000m on a soft 5 surface at Wellington in April.
While the five-year-old has shown her best form on wet surfaces, she is a winner on good 4 going in the past and she boasts a good barrier five from the rail.
Trained by David J Smith, the pick performed well when third over 800m here on her only previous start at this venue and she looks up to recording her second consecutive victory.
The fifth race at Warrnambool is a competitive looking 1700m Benchmark 64 handicap.
A heavy 8 track is expected for the race, with Cherokee Brave expected to have his supporters for the Danny O’Brien stable.
The gelding acquitted himself well at a higher level in his last prep, including when two lengths third in a 2400m Listed race at Caulfield.
The four-year-old went on to finish four-and-a-half-lengths fourth in the 2800m VRC St Leger, a Listed contest at Flemington in April.
While the son of Saxon Warrior performed well when a length second over 1525m at Geelong first up this prep, only six ran that day and it can pay to side with BARRINGTON MANOR.
The seven-year-old is a two-time winner this prep, with the first of those victories coming when racing on a heavy 10 track at Wodonga in July.
The pick raced over 1400m when contesting a Restricted 64 handicap that day and he should have no issues with the quicker going expected here.
The 10.00 gelding put two unplaced efforts behind him when racing from the front prior to getting home by a narrow margin in a 1600m Benchmark 58 handicap on a soft 7 surface at Seymour.
Trainer Jason Warren has his horses in good form at present and his representative is taken to record a win with the blinkers worn of late removed for this event.
The finale at Grafton is an 1106m Benchmark 66 handicap event set to take place on a soft 5 track.
MY MUM'S TOYBOY demonstrated ability in his first prep racing, including when winning a 1000m maiden on a heavy 9 track on debut at Taree in December last year.
The four-year-old ended with two good second-place finishes in January, including when racing over 1200m in a Coffs Harbour Class 1 handicap.
The 2.70 gelding resumed with a fourth over 1100m in a Class 2 handicap over this track and trip in July, prior to doubling his career tally when stepped up to 1181m here last month.
The selection has been freshened since that course success and he looks up to following up with apprentice Claire Ramsbotham taking a valuable three kilograms off his back.
