Bayern Munich v Boca Juniors: FIFA Club World Cup preview

Having demolished Auckland City 10-0 in their opening game of the FIFA Club World Cup, Bayern Munich now have Argentine giants Boca Juniors in their sights for a showdown in Miami on Saturday.

Bayern were expected to hit the ground running against part-timers Auckland and they did indeed make light work of the Kiwi outfit in Cincinnati.

A sterner test awaits against Boca Juniors at Hard Rock Stadium but it’s one the Bavarian giants should pass with flying colours.

Last 16 in sight for Bayern

After their walk in the park against Auckland, Bayern know a win on Saturday can see them secure their place in the last 16 of the Club World Cup with a group game to spare.

Having 31 shots in their game against Auckland, Bayern showed the attacking strength at their disposal but they should find it more challenging against a Boca side that were held to a 2-2 draw by Benfica in their opening game.

Star striker Harry Kane failed to score in the opening game but the England skipper is 1.61 to score on Saturday and 3.60 to score the first goal of the match.  

Boca must step up

Throwing away a two-goal lead to draw against Benfica, Boca will still be rueing their second-half performance against the Lisbon outfit.

Miguel Merentiel and Rodrigo Battaglia gave Boca a 2-0 lead after just 27 minutes but Argentines Angel Di Maria and Nicolas Otamendi struck to rescue a point for Benfica.

Knowing they will have to put in a 90-minute performance if they are to stand a chance of beating Bayern Munich, Boca are 10.00 to claim a valuable three points in their battle to reach the last 16.
