Borussia Dortmund and Monterrey are set to battle it out for the final spot in the Club World Cup quarter-finals at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The Bundesliga powerhouses made it through to the Round of 16 by finishing at the top of Group F with two wins and a draw.

They are now the hot fancies to make it through to the last eight, but Monterrey may have something to say about that.

The Mexican outfit are also unbeaten in the tournament, winning one and drawing two as they finished second in Group E behind Inter Milan.

They held UEFA Champions League finalists Inter to a draw and now have their sights on Dortmund.

Whoever comes out on top here will meet either Real Madrid or Juventus in a mouthwatering quarter-final tie.

Dortmund a mixed bag so far

Dortmund got their tournament underway with a goalless draw against Fluminense, before picking up win over Mamelodi Sundowns and Ulsan HD.

The Germans managed to score four goals against the Sundowns, but also showed some defensive frailty by letting in three.

They bounced back with a clean sheet and a 1-0 victory against Ulsan and will need to be on top form to overcome Monterrey.

Dortmund have had five different goalscorers so far, including star striker Serhou Guirassy, who bagged against the Sundowns.

He can be backed at 2.00 to score at anytime, or 4.50 to score the first or last goal of the game.

If the Sundowns clash is anything go by, there is the potential for goals in this one and over 2.5 in the game is priced at 1.80.

Monterrey a tough nut to crack

Monterrey have shown what they are capable of in this tournament when picking up draws against the might of Inter Milan and River Plate.

Now they have to go one better and beat Dortmund if they are to make the quarter-finals.

They have shown how strong they are defensively, conceding just one goal over the three games and they will need similar resolve to create what would be seen as a shock.

Monterrey have kept two clean sheets so far and can be backed at 5.50 to keep another against Dortmund.

They can also head into this game full of confidence following a 4-0 success against Urawa Reds in their previous game.

Mexico international forward German Berterame scored a brace in that game and is priced at 3.75 to score another at anytime.
