Boosted by their first win of the A-League season, Brisbane Roar will look to make it two in a row when they host Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday night.
Roar remain bottom of the ladder, but a shock victory over Sydney FC in their last game could be the spark they need for the rest of the campaign.
Despite being four points behind Perth Glory, Brisbane do have two games in hand and could still be in with a shout of avoiding the wooden spoon.
Western Sydney are hoping to make the top six but, after picking up just one win in the last five games, it is not looking good.
Brisbane will sense an opportunity to pile more agony on to Wanderers, who will be feeling the pressure once again.
It has been a difficult season for the Roar, but they at last had something to smile about when beating Sydney FC 4-3 on their own patch.
They led 4-1 at Allianz Stadium before two late goals for the home side set up a tense finish.
However, they managed to hold on and will now be looking to back it up with another three points against the Wanderers.
Conceding goals has been an issue for Brisbane, who have leaked 30 so far this season - only the Glory have let in more.
They have yet to keep a clean sheet this season, and will be up against a Wanderers side that has fired home 29 goals this season.
Wanderers have also conceded 27, so there is a good chance there will be goals at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.
There have been at least three goals scored in the last four meetings, and back in December both sides fought out a 2-2 draw at CommBank Stadium.
Western Sydney are four points behind the top six and need to get their act together if they are to play finals football this season.
They have lost their last two matches on home turf, with ladder leaders Auckland FC grabbing a last-minute winner at the weekend.
The Wanderers may welcome a road trip as they look to get back on track, as their last away game saw them win 2-1 at Perth Glory.
They do not have a great record against Brisbane, failing to beat them in the last six meetings.
Four of those games ended in draws, two at 1-1 and two at 2-2.
It could be another close game on Friday night, but Wanderers cannot afford to drop any more points as they push for finals.
In the 2-2 draw back in December, Brandon Borrello grabbed both goals and he is sure to be a big threat once again.
