Back-to-back Premier League wins have been a rarity for Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur this season but after wins over Brentford and Manchester United, Spurs will be determined to keep their run going when they travel to Ipswich Town on Sunday morning.
Having gone seven games with a win in the Premier League, the Lilywhites appear to have turned a corner after a 2-0 win at Brentford was followed by a 1-0 home victory against United.
However, Spurs can certainly take nothing for granted as they have slipped up against relegation-threatened sides already this season, including against this weekend’s opponents.
Revenge might well be a motivating factor for Postecoglou’s side on Sunday having suffered a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Ipswich back in November.
Sam Szmodics and Liam Delap gave the Tractor Boys a 2-0 lead before the break in that game in north London.
While Rodrigo Bentancur pulled a goal back in the 69th minute, Spurs could not find another and were humbled by newly-promoted Ipswich at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
On the back of improving form and with players returning from injuries, Spurs are 1.95 favourites to come away from Portman Road with the three points this weekend.
With two points between themselves and safety, Ipswich are battling for their Premier League survival and every game feels like a cup final for Kieran McKenna and his side.
A 1-1 draw away at Aston Villa was certainly a respectable result last time out and now Ipswich must make the most of their games at Portman Road.
Knowing they have already overcome Spurs this season, Ipswich will go into this game without any fear and the hosts are available at 3.80 for the valuable win, while a draw on Sunday morning is currently 3.60.
