Victory enjoying home comforts more than City

Although both clubs share the same stadium, AAMI Park appears to be a happier hunting ground for Victory than City this season.

The Dark Blues have managed to win all of their three home games this term, beating the likes of Macarthur, Brisbane Roar and Perth Glory.

City on the other hand are yet to win at AAMI Park this season, losing to Victory and Western Sydney Wanderers, while drawing 2-2 with frontrunners Auckland FC in their last home game.

Patrick Kisnobo’s Victory earned a 3-1 win over City in their meeting earlier this season in October, with Nishan Velupillay, Nikolaos Vergos and Ryan Teague all getting on the scoresheet.

Revenge on the agenda for City

Outplayed by their rivals in that game earlier this season, City manager Aurelio Vidmar and his side will be looking for revenge on Saturday.

City do go into this game on the back of positive form, having earned a 4-1 win at Brisbane Roar before that stalemate against A-League frontrunners Auckland last time out.

There has tended to be little to choose from between City and Victory in recent meetings, with three of the last five encounters between the rivals ending in draws.

Two of last season’s games ended in goalless draws and the same scoreline to occur this weekend is 13.00.
