Securing an A-League play-off spot looks like something of a distant dream for Newcastle Jets but they have at least started moving in the right direction.
After losing five of their first six games of the season, the Jets have taken seven points from their last four matches.
They host mid-table Macarthur FC on Sunday, with the visitors in the mix for a top-six spot after losing just one of their last seven outings.

Visitors aim to bounce back from disappointment
Macarthur had won three of their last four games before hosting Adelaide United last time out and looked set to record another victory as they led 1-0 in the 85th minute.
A late Zach Clough penalty and a 92nd minute Luka Jovanovic winner then saw the Bulls not only fail to win but lose the game and they will need to bounce back from that result in this clash.
The away team have won four of their last five on their travels, however, and are 2.45 to add to that tally.
Youngster Jed Drew has caught the eye for the Australia Cup winners, scoring five goals and registering five assists in just 640 minutes of A League action.
The 21-year-old scored doubles against both Western Sydney Wanderers and Perth Glory across his last three appearances and he is a 3.75 chance to find the net again in this game.
Jets' home record needs improving
The Jets have the youngest average age in the A-League this season and their inexperience was on show in their last home game as they surrendered a two-goal lead against Sydney FC to draw 2-2.
That was symptomatic of their struggles at the McDonald Jones Stadium this season - they have lost four of their last five home games in all competitions, including a 4-3 defeat to Macarthur in August's cup clash.
They have scored just three goals at home in the league this season and are 2.70 outsiders to beat the Bulls on Sunday.
Scoring more goals will be key to any success that Rob Stanton’s team have this season, at present they have only netted 12 times in 10 games, one of the worst records in the division.
Despite that they did manage to beat these opponents 2-1 in their November league meeting, with a double from Eli Adams sealing a Jets win - he is 3.75 to score once more against these opponents.
